Vegas week before Christmas and week after Christmas

Since I haven't gotten a chance to take a trip out to Vegas this year, I'm thinking of taking advantage of my mandatory 2weeks off work Dec 19- Jan 3rd and going then. So has anyone on this forum ever gone during those times? I know during the day there is nothing to do, and the crowds are less, but how is the Nightlife scene?

PS. It would be awesome to find a promo like last years that gave $300 off expedia bookings that resulted in free trips air/hotel. So if anyone finds any, please post them on the forums.

I think they shut the clubs down Christmas week to prepare for NYE. Im sure some places are open, but from what Ive heard its dead.

Pretty slow time in town, the clubs don't necessarily close, but there won't be any really big events going on these weeks... until NYE of course.

From living here, I have noticed that a lot of locals still go out these weeks, those that are stuck in town, not going home for xmas, etc. I actually had an amazing time Christmas Eve/Christmas Night going out in Vegas, you just have to find the party and realize... its Christmas.

I was there last year the weekend before Christmas. Thursday we went to Pure and it was painfully dead. They only had the one room open and the dance floor was very open. Friday we hit up vanity and it was more crowded than Pure, but it was still easy to move around and time to get a drink from the bar was no more than 60 seconds for us. Saturday we went to the Cosmo to gamble as it had just opened like 3 days prior.

I remember last year at Surrender they had Sharam, and a few years back at JET they had Tiesto. Like Sir Pearce, you just have to go and find the party, but I'm also pretty certain that if any Tier1 spots are open, then they will be popping for sure.

I think Pure is dead every Thursday.

I think so too, their good nights are Tues, Fri and Sat. Going there any other night is just a waste of money.

Worked out great. Hotel room deals are great and you can actually move in the clubs. The B1G1 at Vanity didn't hurt either. Have fun!

December is underrated in Vegas. At Crown we CRUSHED it all December 2010 EXCEPT xmas eve and xmas day. Vegas casinos have already figured out how to get people to town in December by offering very good rates and other promos. You will also see a bunch of Asians and Persians in Vegas during xmas. Bellagio and Wynn are so busy xmas eve/day, you can't even walk anywhere without bumping into someone every minute.

Lets not forget the specialty x-mas parties like J-ROC-the bells(i know j-roc is gone, but its an example). Last year i took my girl on our first date to simon and moon for that party, then gold the next night for their x-mas party and then haze next night. Armani- clause was at all these events and the crowd was great. As it gets closer i will have a promotion just for x-mas week and let all of you know about it!!!!!

It's quite fun during this time IMO. It's really dead Christmas Eve. Christmas picks up again with some clubs opening up.

You also get to experience some clubs without being packed in like sardines which may be refreshing.

As it gets closer to NYE, the clubs get really busy again as well.

The week before Christmas is always a blast. Cheap hotels, lots of locals and tons of international groups, from my experience. Less crowded, but most of the top clubs will still have great talent and be packed with plenty of people.

If you're lucky, you might get to see snow in Vegas!
