Not even a little bro. I'd give credence to WT661's contention that my recon is 2 years old, except I think we'd all agree 54 was no more hot in '09 than it is now.

Even more mind boggling: I checked my archives and we were actually there on a random wednesday, and it was packed.

It's easy to get tunnel vision and focus on what we like. But "we" tend to be in the industry, die hard clubbers, interested in new music, etc.

There are literally hundreds of thousands of visitors who drink in vegas every year who aren't as hip as some of us ......Or they are too busy with life to do detailed research on what's hot, or they prefer mixology to BS, or they are sick of dragging their wife around watching them gamble and have to show her a night out.....

The numbers on here bear this out; on any given day there are 15 people posting and a couple hundred lurking. I post because I'm both fanatical about vegas nightlife and I want to try and help those who might be somewhat less fanatical. For every member like me who tries to post regularly, there are hundreds more simply reading, either too intimidated to post or simply getting the info they need and moving on.

The only reason we went is we had gotten into town dog tired and the free entry was included in the deal MGM had sent us. I thought 54 was kinda dated obviously, but the music was OK, & the vibe was fun enough. Honestly the only thing i was surprised by was the fact the place was full.

studio 54 popped my club cherry back in like '04 or '05. I pretty much shat a brick when the girls came down from the ceiling.

I stay at MGM a lot so they promote studio 54 on the tv. I haven't been there in years but on Fridays they have 'electric dream'. I just looked it up and it's done by dj loczi and they play edm! They also have an LED wall and lightshow. Lookout marquee! Lol

Maybe its just bad marketing from Studio 54. but honestly, I dont hear much coming out of that place recently. Maybe it is packed for certain occasions but I'm sure Vegas nightlife regulars wouldnt consider Studio 54 in the top 10 or even top 20 clubs to go to.

Man even Mr. Belding from Saved by the Bell was partying at Gallery the other week. Whats Studio 54 got? LOL.

I went two times my last trip, stayed till about 12ish till I went to a Tier one club.......

I actually like the place. I dont like house the change in music is a plus but ya, the times I went its just as packed as a Tier one club. Cant even move on the dance floor.


Are you guys saying this place is dead, or all all the clubs dead during the week?

Heres the last review we had on Studio 54. This was this past June.

Wednesday 8th June - Studio 54
My first experience of being out in Vegas alone ended up here. I will explain.

Initial plan was to go to Surrender or LAX and i'd text a few hosts regarding a variety of options from bottle service to a walk in. However when it came to the crunch the guys started to back out. Some were playing poker at the Rio, some were playing craps at the Wynn and some were in bed already, struggling after last night in Chateau. I was not impressed however I thought I will go out and play some craps, have a few drinks and see if there are any hot girls to chat up.

So i'm in the MGM shooting the dice and a get talking to an Aussie couple, Chris and Rachel. After explaining the rules of craps they join in and we all had fun profiting from a hot streak of some guy on the table. We had a few drinks in the bar afterwards and as we got drunker and drunker, talk soon turned to nightclubs. I suggested LAX as it is near to the MGM but grabbing my phone ready to text a host I soon realised it was 1:30am and any chance of a walk in was now probably gone (or at least the price will have gone up massively). By chance a Studio 54 promoter walked past and handed Rachel some free passes and the decision was made to enter the Tier Z establishment known as Studio 54. I was fairly hammered by now so I was actually up for it just to see if it was as bad as I had previously imagined.

Getting in was easy enough with the free passes. Getting drinks was easy too as the bar wasn't that busy. Finding a female (aside from Rachel) was impossible, this place was wall to wall full of blokes. As soon as we walked in, I felt 1000 eyes aim in our direction as Rachel was a hottie and as far as I could see the only female in here. Whilst she was off limits for me (as Chris was a good guy) I feared for her safety should she get separated from me and Chris.

Almost straight away some prick walked up to Chris and told him Rachel was "a 2 out of 10". This made my blood boil as it was completely false and he was obviously just looking for a fight. Without using the exact words I said, I told this guy that he was a rude, overweight excessive masturbator and if he wanted to keep insulting my friends then I would have an issue with this. Before this situation could escalate 3 huge bouncers came over, separated me and the prick and dragged him out. Speaking to the bouncers they told us he had been looking to kick off with someone all night so they were happy to remove him. Still not a nice start to the night.

As you can imagine the club wasn't too busy and I saw lots of reserved tables but no-one actually sat down. I even offered a passing host $150 for a bottle of vodka at a dancefloor table and I swear he looked like he was going to say yeah for one minute.

The night was spent drinking with Chris, helping Rachel fend off a variety of dudes and attempting to find a female. I thought I saw one on the dancefloor but she was surrounded by blokes who were circling her like sharks around a seal pup. The didn't dare continue to look at what was soon to be a massacre.

We left at 4:30am as the club was closing. All 3 of us were completely wrecked and I do have vague memories of suggesting a threesome which were considered briefly before being rejected. Not a clue how I made it back to my room but do know (thanks to my mate who I woke up) that I attempted to jump onto the bed only to misjudge it and instead bounce off the side. I still have a bruise on my knee over a week later thanks to this attempted stunt.

I only have one piece of advice regarding Studio 54 - don't go unless you are way too drunk to care about anything!


That is the end of my Vegas stories for this Forum on my 2011 trip. Many thanks to JC and everyone on this forum whom helped me plan the trip. As the title of the TR says I LOVE VEGAS and intend to be back in 2012.

Tons of dudes means they all took the offer on those free passes these promoters were handing out. LOL. Not saying that clubs handing out free passes are all bad. It just means theres a reason why they do it.

Just saying that you never see free passes given out to Marquee & XS Reason is because the guy to girl ratio in those are sweet. Half of the time, we already meet up with chicks just at the line of XS just because theres so many there.

I had a good time there in 2004 too. I got in with my fake ID. During 2004 - 2007 I only got into downtown stuff, ghost bar, and studio 54.

I remember going to rain for my 21st birthday. Bouncer let me in ghost bar before, for like 2 years with my fake. Gave me the biggest "you fucking bitch look". I blew him a kiss and winked, then he smiled back.
