Tenjune is this waste of a time of a club in the meatpacking district (I think) directly accross from this really rad dive bar called Brass Monkey. It wasn't fun at all when I went BUT everyone at tables was drinking the super high calibur champagne so I guess it makes sense that they're on the list too.

I was asking where they were on the list, as they were not on the list.

I've been to 'em before - - enjoyed Tenjune very much.

That would be correct if the article in question was looking for possibly the most profitable clubs in the US. As the title says, its just looking for "the most expensive club" which they are judging by the average tab per person.

That's a poor way to judge it. If they wanted to judge it based off tabs, median makes much more sense.

And why just look at tabs and ignore cover? XS and Marquee get away with robbery on big weekends.

Call me crazy but do people actually open up and leave tabs open at clubs? I 90% of the time pay in cash, but when I use a card I close it out. I would imagine a lot of people do the same which leads me to wonder how are they generating their data? I'm guessing they completely excluded bottle service tabs from this.

To be clear....the articles math has nothing to do with the number of people in the club. They have no idea how many people are on a bar tab or table service tab. The only way they can calculate this, is total revenue divided by the number of transactions.

AND there math is VERY flawed. There's NO WAY XS is number 9 and Marquee isnt even in the top 25.

Well, they're trying to say which clubs are most expensive once you're inside, which is why they don't take cover into account.

The numbers may be a little misleading, but they're not meaningless. I don't know how else you can objectively compare the most expensive clubs -- just cover? Just General Admission?

As has been pointed out, doing an average will always skew towards places that have the highest ratio of tables:general admission. Simple as that.

haha yea seriously, its Marquee for goodness sakes. So they are writing an article that theres more people that bump dicks in general admin on an average night at Nikki and that one place in the Hamptons. Very nice Its good to read, but doesn't wow me.

While that's technically true, it's directly correlated with the number of people in the club. Obviously more people means more bar tabs. If a bottle service tab is for two people vs ten people, the latter is likely to be five times as much. Same with people buying drinks for other people.

IMO the most expensive nightclub should include cover and drink price and bottle price.
