  • Day club advice for large groups

I'm planning a weekend in Vegas for 10 guys, September 18-20.

I figure everything will be tough, but I'm hoping for tips on attending a day club on the Saturday that won't cost $200+ per person. We're staying at the Cosmopolitan, but would rather avoid Marquee as we'll be there in the eve (with table reserved).

Any tips are very welcome. For example, is it worth just buying advance tickets and breaking the group up, if we're talking about places like Drai's? Ideally we want a good (not rough) crowd, as classy as possible really, and electronic music. I don't care about super DJs like Calvin Harris or Guetta in general, and that hopefully helps keep the cost down.

    Thanks in advance.

buy presale tickets to calvin harris wet republic at $56 each
guetta at encore beach are $87 each.
calvin and guetta are going to draw the crowds and iheartradio music festival is that weekend at mgm- you can also look at daytime village concert if you want calvin will start around 3pm

    drais is $36 each

I highly recommend going to Marquee Dayclub one of the days you are at the Cosmopolitan, either the 18th, 19th, or 20th. There's no reason to avoid where you are going at night during the day scene since they are totally different. So I'd definitely do one day at Marquee Dayclub, then I'd probably do one day at EBC since it's usually considered the best in town.

Thanks for the tips. It feels a bit lazy to stay at MDC but yeah, convenience is pretty huge. Can I ask why you think Marquee > Drai's?

If we just buy pre-sale, do we need to split the group up to get in smoothly, or can 10 guys walk up before noon and get in together?

I've never had a problem being denied entrance if I had tickets, and I've been with larger all male groups. I don't think it matters as long as everyone has a ticket.

I've only been to Drai's for their Yacht Club (night time pool party) but I have been to MDC and it's a good time, just not quite as amazing as EBC. Drai's I feel isn't worth the effort of getting over there, but EBC definitely is.

You should be fine all doing presale, especially arriving that early.

So EBC really is a cut above? I'm not so fussed with spending $90 a ticket to get in to see Guetta play an iPod, but if it's really something to experience we may have to check it out regardless.

I never said $90 a ticket was reasonable. TJR on Friday and Zedd on Sunday are both $47. Is it better than every other venue, yes, but paying almost double for Guetta isn't worth it.

Agree with Max re pricing for Guetta. Zedd was solid in May and TJR does a very good set. Can't compare the Friday vs weekend crowd at EBC as I have never done a Friday but Zedd draws the crowd.

Sounds good, we'll look at EBC for Sunday perhaps if any of us are still standing, and will keep things local for the Saturday.

                    Cheers again!

Anybody pulled off the trifecta, pool party, nightclub, after hours? Headed out this weekend and we are discussing whether its possible now.

Thinking pool from 2-5, nap 5-10, club 11-3, after hours 330-530.

I'd say that schedule could work but the problem is a 5 hour nap isn't something you can necessarily pull off with any certainty. You may put it on the schedule and it just doesn't happen, and then you are looking at 27.5 hours of Vegas. Realistically you could get the same amount of partying in by just going to the pool 2 hours earlier, and then you save an extra taxi ride and cover charge.

First, sorry all, intended to put this in the nightclub/dayclub same day thread.

And Max, its not so much about hours spent partying, I just like to see as many venues as possible in the 3 nights I am out there. Frankly if I don't have a table, I tend to be ready to move on after 3 or so hours. I actually rarely nap out there, even though I built it into the schedule, I am a wiley veteran that has a lot of experience pacing myself, but my wife has to nap to survive, and if we try to pull of the trio its likely to be necessary. Pretty good at answering the alarm bell out there, Vegas gives me plenty of energy.

You are not paying $90 to go watch the DJ. You are paying $90 to go hang out with 2000 people (>1000 girls, most in bikinis) in a crazy pool party. If you want to watch a concert, go to a concert. If you want to go chat up a bunch of hot girls in bikinis, go to EBC.
