  • Marquee Day Club Best Days and DJ Lineups

How are the crowds on fridays at MDC recently with the DJ's they are getting. I see they really dont get the top tier DJ's anymore. Also for 4 guys how much would we be looking at for a daybed on friday? And is it worth it to go there? What daybed should we look into.

    Thanks

I was there the first Friday in June and it was packed. The grand cabanas sold out and minimums on grand cabanas were increased by $2,000 (to $6,000).

Marquee has clearly exited the DJ wars.

I think you are looking at all in $1,500 for a day bed. That's about what another JC poster paid on the same Friday. I would target a day bed in the middle (the day beds are alongside the pool from the DJ to the back bar). I don't think you want to be the first row off the DJ or you could get crowded by the people dancing in front of the DJ.

I would do MDC on a Friday and then do Wet and EBC on the weekend.

Ask them for specifics, it's a pool so technically all of the beds are on the 'deck'. The daybeds are also kinda first come first served. If you get there early you'll pretty much have your pick of the locations within your min. If you show up at 12-12:30 you'll get what ever is available.

do you have to tip the host to get a decent spot or is just turning up early enough?

Friday is hit or miss for MDC, but even on slow days it is a pretty cozy atmosphere since the club is so small relative to the competition - so MDC has that going for it.

Early should be good enough. If you're trying to avoid having to tip, show up early and see what you get, worst case tip for a better spot.

Honestly, if you show up early on Friday you should be able to score a daybed for $500 if it's just 4 of you guys. They'll adjust to demand and start raising mins depending on how busy it looks like it'll get.
