  • Deposit for booking a table through a promoter?

My second time in vegas, but this is a first for me. I contacted a promoter for Daylight this coming Friday for a daybed and he tells me management is asking for a full deposit. Is this typical or does it yell scam?

The paypal invoice sheet came from HOTELBANDIT LLC if anyone has heard of them.

    Thanks,

nope that is not a deposit that is a full prepay. you will always be asked for (at the highest) a 20% deposit and ask him to give you his email and make sure its a @daylight or @light email. if he doesnt have either of those he doesnt work for the venue and you will get ripped off

edit: would just like to add its not a holiday weekend to need a prepay he is probably just making sure he gets paid in case you cancel last minute.

Hotelbandit is owned by David Long that just became an LLC in January. He's not with Light directly.

Don't prepay a dime for Daylight.

promoter or host? there's a difference. With a promoter you're going to be paying more to cover his/her kickback as they're a middleman and independent of Light Group.

***** Sweet is an excellent host that works for Light Group and has always been more than great. I can't find his phone number right now but I'll check back into this thread once I get it. I would recommend working with a direct host over a promoter, you'll get a lot more for your money.
