  • Marquee Dayclub Table Location - Advice Needed

Me and six friends are going to MDC on July 11 for our annual guys trip and have booked a daybed. We've arranged a pretty generous handshake, so we have a lot of options in terms of places to sit.

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. We'd like to be "close to the action," with decent foot traffic and view of the DJ booth, but not in a spot where people will be falling all over our section once things get going. We've been there before, but that was only with GA pre-sales. Any feedback would be appreciated.
    Upcoming Trips:
July 10-12, 2015 / Marquee Day Club, Drais, Encore Beach Club, Tryst/XS

    Past Trips:
Nov. 13-16, 2014 / Drai's, Tryst, XS, The Light, GBDC
    Aug. 15 - 17, 2014 / Drai's, Marquee, Encore Beach Club, Tryst, XS
Oct. 11 - 13, 2013 / The Light, Tryst, Marquee Day Club, TAO Beach
July 26-29, 2012 / XS, Wet Republic, Haze
    July 15-18, 2011 / XS, Pure
    Sept. 23-26, 2010 / TAO, Lax, Moon

I would avoid the daybeds closest to the DJ (to avoid people dancing running up on you) and furthest from the DJ. Try to be in the middle. Some people like the daybeds in the walkway between the two pools but I think the foot traffic is too light.

Was actually planning on hitting this up - we're staying at the Cosmo.

Agree with EastCoast - the daybed in the 700's (not the first set) seemed to be pretty solid locations last time I was there.

Had daybed 717 at MDC for Cash Cash the Monday of MDW. Great location, center of the action, close to the pool. Definetely recommend it.

Looks like the old layout, but the location is the best for the daybeds.

I can always count on this forum to come through. What are everyone's thoughts on what looks to be a sofa-type set up (table #710)? I'm just thinking the layout of a daybed might be a little awkward for a group of guys, as we're not actually going to be lying down on it. Seems like the sofa would be a better approach.

I'd opt for that too, for the same reasons.

The question is never whether your boys would sit down on the bed. The question is whether the women you invite over would sit down on the bed. You will see plenty of dudes sitting on the sofas - those guys are great because they are occupying valuable real estate but not competing with you for the women.

MDC has a virtual tour of the club. Link is below. Watch it and get an up close view of your options. I would go with the option that has the most space. 7 dudes will, if all goes well, have at least 7 girls at their bed and will want plenty of room for the girls.

Don't think they have as many tables in between the daybeds, especially on weekends.

It's a lot different. You can tell right away it's the old layout from the wading pool. Also now, they don't normally put daybeds in front of the DJ booth anymore, and they reorganized the main area into three rows instead of two so that there are daybeds along the main pool. I'll try to get a copy of the layout next time I go to MDC.

This is very helpful. The changes make sense, seemed like they were cramming a lot in the center on the old table map.
