EBC or Drai's or Fil in the blank for us?

I need some input from fellow JC'ers... I'm coming into town July 9-12th to celebrate my birthday with my wife and 2 other couples. Dayclubs are a favorite thing but so far I'm surprised at the minimums even on a Friday for 6 people in comparison to our last trip in 2013. We'd like to do a big dayclub day on Friday and a big nightclub night on Saturday but may switch them around. I was quoted the following from direct hosts for both days:

EBC
Lilypad - $1400
Beach Couch - $1400
Daybed - $2100

Drai's
Daybed - $1200

Daylight
Daybed - $1200

Liquid
Daybed - $1200

The preference before getting quotes was EBC since we had a good experience last trip there and TJR is DJ'ing on Friday. I figure that Wet (Calvin Harris) on Saturday and MDC would be at least as high as these minimums. EBC has Dillon Francis on Saturday so that's interesting as an option.

What other places should we consider that might be lower minimums or are these pretty much standards now?

High pricing prob due to the UFC fan expo(12k expected) and National Fantasy Football Convention (6k) start on the 10th and Cosmoprof (27k) starts on Monday the 13th.

Esp. if your getting quote same price tjr friday vs calvin harris saturday

Will just mention foxtail at sls does daybeds/couches for 8 for $550 on Saturdays/Sunday from there website.

Back in April I got a daybed at Marquee for $500 on a friday. Prices may have gone up but its worth at least getting a quote.

That looks like Sat pricing from EBC but is consistent. My reference quotes are for 10-12 guys at WET will be 4k for a lounge (by the bar 100% shaded) 5k for the dance floor deck and 6k for a cabana. It might be safe to assume you could get the lounge for 2k for 6, but I am not sure. . .I don't have WET day bed prices but I actually think WET is more expensive with CH than EBC.

That's what seemed odd to me..same pricing on Friday for TJR as Dillon Francis on a Saturday at EBC. I know TJR but he's not a huge name.

I think I should get a Marquee quote...just to compare. Anyone know if Justen Crews is still there?

Those are pretty much standard now. If you're looking to save on the dayclub, I wouldn't switch the days around, unless you consider going to a different dayclub altogether like Tao Beach, where you might be able to get a slightly lower minimum on a Friday. I'm going that same weekend for a bachelorette and there's 10 of us in our group. We're going to EBC on 7/11 and the quotes I got from a direct host were just a bit higher than yours, but keep in mind even though we're all girls, there's more of us and it's for a Saturday with a slightly more known DJ (I believe Dillon Francis may be a bigger draw than TJR).

Of your options, I would personally spend the extra $200 and stick with a lilypad or beach couch at EBC if you can afford it in your budget. Keep in mind with lilypad you can't apply food toward your minimum because you're directly in the pool, but beach couch you can apply food & drinks toward your minimum. If it's too much of a dealbreaker with tax and gratuity factored in, since all the options you laid out are equal, definitely go with Drai's.

Good point on the lilypad...wasn't remembering about food not going towards the total there. There's going to be 4 of us to start the day as the other couple flies in around 11 so beach couch seems like the best choice. I don't think we'd save going anywhere on a Saturday except Drai's, which is likely to be our choice, although that's also where we're likely to go Saturday night (or XS). We ruled Tao out after going there on previous trips and the small pool size (that and Chris Traer is no longer there to host).

I would expect Dillon Francis on a Saturday to be higher min's than TJR on a Friday, but my quotes were the same for either. Interesting that your quotes were close to mine with 10 people... Maybe I should've got quotes for 3 women and then us guys pay cover...

I think there is a general separation on mins from resident DJs and pricing and it is more of a reflection of the day/season. Basically I think many of the Wynn/Encore locations (and most of the Tier 1) just throw down house mins for locations x (couch, lily pad, cabana, etc) no matter who is on the deck. I guess EBC in July figures there is no need to price differently on Friday vs Saturday.

Beach couch at EBC is solid. Looks like you have a mixed group - EBC doesn't allow only dudes on lily pads. It was hard to hit our 2800 min with 11 guys on booze only. We spent well over $300 on chicken fingers alone.
