Does anyone know if there is a site or posting here that will show the cabana and daybed layout locations for spots like Rehab, EBC or Wet Republic?

Can Hosts get better pricing than what is listed on the site (Rehab). Meaning, can I get a cabana listed as $1500 spend, for $1000 spend if I go through a host?

Always go through the host as they are able to provide better deals most of the time depending on who is performing there that day.

I actually already hit Chris up.
I am cool with DJ Loczi and he was DJing Rehab. Last year he put my group on his guestlist and told me to see Chris when I got there. Chris let us in after a kinda long wait. So I still had his number.

Anyway, he told me he could do $1500 for upper level cabana & $2000 for lazy river cabana and $3000 for poolside main level on my date (DJ Pauly D, nothing special). Plus the extra 31% in taxes & tip.

Same prices are on the link posted above. Plus there are other options and locations he didn't mention available at a lower price.

Since it would be courteous to tip hosts for their help with things like this, I am not sure how it makes sense to use him, or any host, if the pricing is the same.

Am I missing something?

That's a very valid point and when it comes to brass tacks, most people end up going the route of booking online or over the phone with the venue corporate office.

So here's a bit about Chris and the majority of JC recommended hosts that have stood the test of time over the last 3-4 years. He'll always quote you straight up, keep his word, and stick to what he thinks will result in a fun day or night for you and your group. If he thinks a certain area sucks and you're more likely to walk he won't generally open with quoting it for you. Also, if your group size doesn't really fit the price and area or they don't even plan on sitting that area that day then that could be the case as well. If you'd like those areas quoted, simply say is there anything cheaper and he'll likely add those as an option and probably even say why he doesn't suggest them for whatever reason.

Upside to using a host is he/she's physically there to make sure you're taken care of, any issues are addressed by himself personally, and you get what you were promised and are paying for. He will physically hold the best spot available for your price that day and make sure you have a good time.

If you just book over the phone or online, then your reservation is simply a name on a piece of paper with no real priority or anyone taking a second look. You'll get whatever they feel like giving you when you arrive.

I see it the same as going to a popular restaraunt. If the people there know you and are waiting for you then the second you walk in the door, they already have a great table ready for you, they make sure you're well taken care of and you end up having great service and an issue free night. If you're some person that called over the phone and made a reservation and noone knows you then you never know how long you'll be stuck waiting, where they'll put you or how good the service will be. Definitely if you have a complaint as the random over the phone person, who knows if they'll even bother attempting to fix it. If they know you, they'll get it taken care of within minutes.

Host is to ensure the overall experience is top notch, there are no surpirses throughout the day or night, and you keep coming back. Over the phone or online purchase is just a number and name on a piece of paper.

In regards to guestlist, yeah tables take priority so they'll likely make sure all their tables and people they are familiar with are taken care of first. After that, they get to person that was referred by someone else just trying to get in.

P.S. Excuse my run-ons...its my tendency to be a bit too detailed and avoid confusion.

I am cool with the details. You made some valid points. I have booked with hosts before. For the most part, I have had great service and the hosts did check in with me. Its true that when you contact them direct, they seem to give you more respect when you are in the facility. There is a value to that, which I wasnt thinking about. I was concentrating on "the deal".

Host tip is always a hot topic here..... when dealing with Chris, what kind of tip do you give him when you used him? If he is giving me the standard price, should I still be tipping?

Lastly... Lets say a host quotes you 4 areas/price levels at a pool/club priced at $500, $1000, $1500 & $2000. In general, is it possible for a host to maybe get you in the $1500 area for only $1000 spend? I was hoping for something like that when using a host. I guess anything is "possible" huh??

On the link you have to put the # of people in and the rate will then tell you. Once you go above 10 it's $100 more/person to the min. So if I was 10 or less, and I'm looking at Pauly D on 6/14, I'm gambling and doing online for the upper and lazy river as the rate is cheaper. I would also be getting there early since you also have to prepay a certain amount before hand.

If you want main level at that price, I'd go through Chris.

There are going to be 6 guys and 2 females in the group. I was thinking of just booking online for for the lesser rate. I think my group would be happy with that. most have never done a pool party in Vegas.

Chris can put you in a better area. As most people suggest, just be sure to let him know straight up hey I'm going to add this tip and what spot will it help me get instead of just the basic spot for the basic price. He's always been pretty good about giving good spots and making sure you're not in some corner or stuck in some bad area.

If you do plan on tipping, at least make sure you're getting something out of it by being up front. Or just ask what can I tip to get a better spot at the same price.

What sucks is when the host doesn't know you're going to tip or expect one. Then you end up getting sat wherever and they get the tip afterwards and they can't change your area assuming all the good spots were held or sat already. If they know beforehand, they generally make sure you have a good spot waiting for you. Also, if you tip the runner that walks you and not your actual host, most of the time the host will have no idea you tipped at all.

Saving $500 actually saves you about $650 when factoring in tax/tip. $200 seems to be fair for this.
