  • Wet vs. EBC | Calvin Harris vs. David Guetta

So looking to take the bachelor party to a day club - a first for many. I think I got the crew 10-14 to agree to a max spend around $300 per for a total of $3k-$4k. We are looking at Saturday 4/11. At the moment Guetta is announced at EBC and Calvin Harris at Wet.

I have done Daylight on a Friday in May (Blackout Artist Friday), Wet on a Saturday with Hardwell and EBC on a Sunday with Steve Angello both in August. Wet was one helluva a party but I like the look, feel and layout of EBC better. I actually liked the relative calm of the no splashing at EBC vs Wet and the stripper-pole-shower is a nice touch, a great place to chill and hilarious to watch the bouncers throw off dudes who should know better.

Any insight into spends/deals at the respective locations and where $$ will go farther? I am into the music of both so I can't pick/steer based on that (though I'd give the nod to CH) and I don't think the crew in general will have that strong of an opinion either. Given that both are big names but early April will there be reasonable spends? (As an aside, do the venues really adjust all that much for the DJs or - since they always have big names on Saturday's the prices don't change unless it is a holiday weekend?)

Which is going to be a better deal and party? Thoughts?

I don't know if you'll be able to get a cabana for that at either location - But EBC upper level may be your best bet. Some people hate on the upper cabanas because they are "too far from the action." I think they are great though... You don't want to be a target for bottle rats, and it lets your guys go out and meet girls in and around the pool and offer them a spot away from the pool to get out of the sun and off their feet for a while. It will be a little quieter and easier to have your own thing going on, and will probably fit your budget.

I think you may have trouble finding what you are looking for with that size of group on a weekend with less than a $5-$6k all in minimum spend. I think your budget should be $400 - $500 per person to be safe. You should start making inquiries with hosts now.

At EBC those beach couches usually go for $1,400 food & beverage min and can accommodate 6. You can get two of those to accommodate your group.

What section are the beach couches? 500s? 1.4k*2*1.3/12 comes out to just over 300pp before collecting for tip. What kind of scene is expected and what tip to bump to a solid spot?

A couple things of note from what you and other's have posted. I was in the same position last year for my bachelor party. we had 10-12 guys, which is kind of a hard number because it's too few for cabana but too many for lily pad, etc

First, I'd try to nail down exactly how many guys are going. That will drastically affect what your budget is and what locations you'll be looking at.

Second, pretty much everywhere is a good spot at ebc (can't speak for wet). you're budget is going to dictate your location more than anything else.

Third, we ended up getting an upper cabana at ebc. like mentioned above it was nice having a place to chill and bring girls up to. However, personally, i would have preferred being closer to the action. This is what I would recommend. I'd try to find 2-4 people from the get connected section, which would make 16-18 and get a lower cabana. That should run you around 8k all in. split between 18 people would be around 450. I'd definitely allocate more resources to the pool party vs club.

Whatever you end up doing, i'm sure it'll be killer.

Tough, tough, I don't think you can go wrong, I'd say at Wet get close to main pool, couch if possible. Or water couch in middle of main pool at EBC.
