  • Keeping your valuables dry?

    Hey all,

Heading to EDC this summer, have yet to hit up a Vegas pool party. What's the best method you guys have found for keeping your valuables (phone, ID, cash, etc) dry? We regularly have raves at one of the biggest indoor waterparks in my city and they always give everyone lanyards with a secure plastic casing attached to put your stuff in. This seems like it would be a great idea, but I don't know if that would be too awkward looking?

    Need your input!

    couple of options
    1. bring as little as possible
    2. some have lockers you can rent
    3. even though its a pool party- some people don't go in the water
    4. you can go the lanyard option

In our group most don't hit the pool and just hang at the bar or such so if anyone has the urge to jump in we just hold the wallet and phone for them. Personally I use one of those small business card holders to carry my id, room key and credit card when I am out there. I go with the suggestion of Arte of bringing as little as possible.

Sometimes bringing as little as possible still isn't enough. My issue is really the phone since it is usually my entry ticket (txt msg to host) and I will likely be setting up the night while at the day club. Also, some women will not part with their purse no matter what!

We have gone with the locker route and just paid the money for the peace of mind.

Wet is like $50 so be prepared (at least I got in free). Make sure you get one decently early as they will sell out. One time we were the last locker. They did have charging stations in each locker.
EBC has a bag check that allows in-and-out for something like $20.
Daylight also has lockers though I don't know at what price.

Good input from all in this thread, thanks!

I don't plan on being in the water however I will probably just end up bringing ID/cash/room key.

Another dumb question, but what do you guys do with your shirts once you are in the club? I'm definitely the person who doesn't want to be wearing a shirt at a dayclub in the middle of June.

They do make a variety of waterproof wallets. Some can be discretely hidden in the pocket of boardshorts. There are also personal lockers I have seen in other places (a little case with a lock and a thick wire cable to lash it to a lamp post or something that cant be easily moved. Not the smoothest look but safe. If you can pull off the no phone then ziplock, ID, Credit Card and some cash...done.

I personally just have one of my body guards or personal assistants hold my things.

+1 on this. Simple and effective.

I usually put everything in one ziplock bag, then wrap the first bag in a second ziplock bag. You can just throw that in your back pocket.

I've tested it in the pool - the inner bag was completely dry.

If you are neither, then sit back, let the rich and/or good looking people sort their shit out, and then take their scraps. Booking early is not going to get you ahead of the rich and/or good looking people. Sucks unless you are rich or good looking. But that's what makes Vegas so great. It is completely transparent."

If you can go no phone - no need for the ziplock. Cash is waterproof and the rest is plastic. Party on!

I like your style. I'll probably just leave the phone in the room.

Also I asked earlier, but what do you guys do with your shirts?
