Booking LDW in advance? Do or don't

Hey everyone!

I'm travelling to Vegas for Labor Day weekend with 10 other people (an almost even mix of guys and gals). We're all new to Vegas nightlife and having a bit of a debate about some of the pool parties and club nights during that weekend - specifically Wet Republic and Hakkasan (Calvin Harris, Tiesto, etc). My friends all want to book tickets to everything now (almost 4 weeks in advance) so that they can be guaranteed that they're going. I'm fairly sure that we could all get guest list for them by reaching out to a host.

Can anyone tell me what we should do? Should we book in advance now and pay the steep GA prices? Or will it be possible for me to get guest list admission for the group?

DO

There are 5 ways into a vegas nightclub or pool party
1. general admission- walking up waiting in line paying night of
2. guestlist- usually even ratio 1guy/1girl sunday-thursday have to enter before 12am. And usually doesn't work for holiday weekends/special events.
3. presale tickets- buying tickets in advance with a separate line- basically guaranteed entry unless your out of dress code, wasted drunk or forget your id card to prove your 21+
4. hosted entry/ walk in- someone walks you in- usually for cover charge + a tip. Hakkasan/wet republic have a expedited entry line for 2x the door cover
5. tables/ bottle service- separate line

For example
I have seen Calvin Harris tickets start at
(male prices)
50+fees= 75
go to 75+fees=100
go to 100+fees=125
with a door price of $150
and a expedited entry price of $300

So basically
1. if your 100% set on certain events buy tickets
2. you can look at cheaper options- some clubs have much cheaper presale tickets like XS

3. you can go where is free- for example there is a guy on these forums vipfree- basically all the clubs/pools have a rough idea based on ticket/table sales how busy they are going to be before events start so if a club wants to increase attendance they sometimes open up guestlists very last minute like morning/afternoon of etc. If you go this route you might get nothing or you might get a second or third choice. Mainly because its a holiday weekend most places will be at capacity.

Also to help you out with timing
most nightclubs open around 11pm with headline djs on around 1am staying open till around 5am
most pool parties open around 11am with headline djs on around 3pm staying open till around 6pm
