  • June 14/15 - Group of 10 ladies

    Hi!

I'm heading to Vegas June 13-15 with a group of 9 other ladies. I'm wondering what the best options are for getting a daybed or cabana for our group. We are looking for a fun pool that isn't too crazy or crowded (ex. we went to Liquid at Aria last year and it was too much for us. We actually had more fun when we left and went to the regular pool). We're staying at the Cosmo and have a few grad students in our midst so I'm looking for a good deal :P.

    Thanks for your help!

    Liz

What kind of music are you looking for? Are you more concerned about the place not being crowded than the genre of music?

most of the pool parties in vegas are crazy and crowded on saturday and sunday with the big djs also cabanas and daybeds at these usually require a several thousand $ minimum spend but you might be able to get a deal as a group of 10 girls if you talk to a promoter/host

That said if hotel pool is more your thing you can get cabanas/ daybeds there

I am a little concerned that if you found Liquid too packed than you'll probably won't like the larger pool parties either as they normally draw much bigger crowds, so sticking to a hotel pool might be your best option. But then again maybe Liquid was just packed that day for some reason as it is just a smaller place compared to others. EBC has Avicii that Saturday so that is a definite no-go as it will be nuts and Bingo Players at Wet probably will still be on the crazy side. Markus Schulz at Marquee and Hook'n'Sling at Daylight probably have less of a crazy draw, but then again Marquee is always crazy so if you do want to check out a pool party Daylight might be your best choice, especially as the place is also pretty large so it doesn't come across as crazy crowded even with a large crowd attending. Incidentally that will be where I'll be with my guys that day ;-).

Otherwise if you want to stick to hotel pools, I have heard good things about the boulevard pool at Cosmo and the pools at Encore/Wynn, but haven't been to either.

If Liquid was too crowded, it sounds like you should skip pool parties altogether and go to a hotel pool. The Bamboo Pool is also nice, but I think Boulevard is the way to go. We went to both last year while staying at Cosmo and really liked them. I have NO idea how to go about getting a deal on those, I wake up insanely early so we were able to get chairs at Boulevard without a problem. I don't remember the cabanas or beds being very full, so maybe see if there's a good deal the day of? We got a lot of food and beverage credits at check-in during our stay, based on some flirting and bribery, which we used to order drinks at the pool and charge them to the room, but that's luck of the draw.
I'm not bitchy, I'm just drawn that way.

For Cosmo 2 weeks before your arrival here's an email of f&b $$$. Saw his on another site recently:

Thank you for your interest in our resort pools at The Cosmopolitan! I have attached our pool sheet to give you a little more information about our pools. All of our rates are food and beverage minimums. This means you will just need to consume your given minimum in food and drinks, any balance remaining at the end of the day will be settled as a rental fee. Reservation check-in is from 9am-11am and you can utilize the cabana or daybed until the pool closes.

            On Saturday: May 31, 2014
The options for the Boulevard Pool:
            · 4.0 Cabana (pool level)(maximum of 8 guests)-starting at $3000 food and beverage minimum
The 4.0 Cabanas also include 4 lounge chairs on the pool water, included in the minimum
            · 4.5 Cabana (upper level)(maximum of 8 guests)-starting at $2000 food and beverage minimum
The 4.5 Cabanas also include 2 lounge chairs outside of the cabana on the upper level, included in the minimum
            · Daybeds (maximum of 4 guests per daybed)-starting at $1000 food and beverage minimum
Approximately the size of a queen mattress
Option of requesting an umbrella with daybeds

The options for the Bamboo Pool:
            · Cabana (maximum of 8 guests)- starting at $1500 food and beverage minimum
Bamboo Cabanas include 2 lounge chairs outside of the cabana, included in the minimum
            · Daybeds (maximum of 4 guests per daybed)- starting at $750 food and beverage minimum
Approximately the size of a California King mattress
Bamboo Daybeds do not have the option of an umbrella

Please note all minimums exclude an additional charge for sales tax (8.1%) and automatic gratuity/service fee (21%). These rates are subject to change based on availability. We are able to honor the prices quoted for 48 hours without a credit card authorization form, if the price increases during this time. The number of guests does affect the minimum price. If the maximum amount of guests per cabana/daybed is exceeded, an additional charge per guest will be added to the minimum.

Last July we did MGM's main pool and got 2 cabanas there and also Monte Carlo's pool and did a cabana there.

MGM was on Monday 7/15 and it was a $500 f&b minimum per cabana and we got 2 cabanas for the 12 of us.

Personally the coolest one was the Executive cabana at Monte Carlo which was $800 on that Saturday and it was $600 for Mon-Friday. Holds up to 20 has it's own wading pool. Wife and her gf's loved that part.

This was the POC for Monte Carlo. I called in initially to concierge and she responded back with a pdf file of a description of options and pricing. They will not go above the max people allowed. The executive cabana would be the only scenario that could handle everyone. All of the beds you will need to get 3 and the cabanas2 since 8 is the max also. You do have to put a $200 deposit on a cc to lock in the day which is put towards the f&b min at the end and can cancel up to 24 hours in advance to receive the $200 refund.

We're there that same time (3 couples), and staying at Monte Carlo. We did a cabana last summer, and had a really cool laid back time.

Actually, it only takes one drink to get me loaded. Trouble is, I can't remember if it's the thirteenth or fourteenth.

A good friend would bail you out of jail, but your best friend would be the one sitting next to you saying, "damn that was awesome".

I live for the nights I can't remember with the people I'll never forget.

Yep, all good points. Liquid does get crazy on Saturday and we have less GA than most of the other pools so I'm sure you won't like them at all. I'd say other options would be the Cosmo pools, as mentioned. If you can get in the Wynn pool that might work. Moorea, Venus, maybe even Bare (the European bathing pools) may work for you. They will be adult only vs regular hotel pools and have DJs so will be more of a party vibe but not crazy.
