I have a large party (20 guys) for a bachelor party in two months. To save costs on the pool party we are planning to get a table for 10 guys and have the other 10 do pre-sale tix. Would the 10 guys with pre-sales be allowed to hang out at our cabana/beach couch? Would management/waitress/host have a problem with this?

If you play it smart and the pre-sales guys aren't standing in a group and hovering over you as you are getting your cabana set up it shouldn't be a problem. Let them trickle in.Originally posted by dp88 View PostI have a large party (20 guys) for a bachelor party in two months. It does work, but come on man... Its one thing having an extra one or two, but doubling your party to 20!?!?!
Youll get either asked to leave the cabana or pay extra. Its not hard to notice. When the waitress comes over she's gonna notice that your group has swelled by 100%
I presume you realise a beach couch is this!?

You need a cabana with 10. And with 20!?!? Just go in pre-sale and save yourself the embarressment. 20 men around a couch!? Douche central.

It only ever works when there's enough space to house your party. If you have a table at XS that has room for 4 or 5 people then you obviously cant run that up to 10 or so because you spill into either other peoples tables or into the walkways and security does something about that.Originally posted by ratchelor View PostWould this strategy work for nightclubs too?

Yeah thats not so bad. Those couches arent massive, but a mixed group of 8 im sure youd be cool.
The key is, what club or pool wants a group of 20 men in their property? None. So you gotta get creative, or pay the bucks. 20 guys crammed around one couch that can seat 3 people is not the answer to that.
OP - presumably some or all of your group would like female attention at some point? Can you imagine how intimdating and off putting a group of 20 guys buzzing around a tiny bit of real estate like a beach couch is??.... A cabana or two however?... Well thats a different story.

Not a very good idea.Originally posted by dp88 View PostI have a large party (20 guys) for a bachelor party in two months. Please read everything tomm0 has said so far and take it to heart....

i wouldn't do it but i doubt all 20 guys would ever be there at once, if it's being used as a place to order drinks, put all your stuff down and as a home base to know you could find a few guys if you break away i don't see why it's such a bad idea.
that being said 20 guys for that small of a couch is a shitload. i'm more just commenting on the idea.

A couple of things I forgot to mention were that everyone is arriving at different times that day, so we aren't going to show up at the opening bell with 20 dudes. Secondly, half the guys were not willing to pay to do the table but, I'm confident they will show up and hangout where ever we are. I'm not the type of person that can be an a-hole and to tell them to keep it moving especially with people I barely know.

Sometimes you really have to be an asshole to get your point across...
If possible, shoot out an email explaining that the guys throwing down money for a table are not only paying the bottles but for the real estate and for the experience as well. It would be disrespectful for whoever did not put in money to encroach on their space. If you didn't pay for the VIP experience, don't expect everyone that did to be ok with it.
I'm helping plan a large bachelor party as well. Since I don't want to be traveling in one large group of dudes, here's what I did....In addition to that email outlining the guidelines I also created a spreadsheet with activities for the weekend, the cost associated with those activities, and sign up list. This hopefully breaks up the group to more manageable sizes and people are not stuck doing or paying for something they have no interest in. Also have alternative activities available so that the guys don't feel if they don't do EBC there's no other option for them.
.......or just tip security beforehand to be the asshole and not let any other guys around your area and say you can't do anything about. Let the other guys see how much fun you're having and wish they'd ponied up!
