Do you need to be a guest to reserve cabanas at regular hotel pools?

We're staying at the Venetian Labor Day weekend for a bachelorette party. About 6 women.

We want to rent a cabana by the Backlot Lazy River at MGM or Nirvana Pool at Hard Rock (the bride has a thing for lazy rivers). Since we're staying at the Venetian, will this be a problem? I know some hotels are open only to guests, but not sure if that cancels out if we'd be spending $500-$1500 minimum for a cabana.

I've heard conflicting information between email exchanges with hotels, cabana contracts, etc., so I figured I'd just ask the pros here.

You can reserve whatever you want, wherever you want regardless if you are a hotel guest or not.
BTW, the nirvana pool is a great time....

There are some that will only allow guests. I'm not sure about but contact the hotel directly to varify. And, a lot of them sell out holidays so contact soon.
