  • Flamingo GO Pool...Best Cabana location

I am thinking of getting a cabana at the GO Pool. Where is the prime location with the most action.

    Thanks!

Everything I saw on Google pics wise looked like they were not close to the pool. I passed on them due to the cabana quote they gave me a month ago for our July trip is not a food and beverage commitment. $500 all day for the cabana or $600 for all day with 1 bottle of Malibu or Absolut included. Renting the cabana and still on the hook for the food and drinks. Just an FYI.

Don't remember the cabana number but I've had one at the Go Pool before and it was just a couple steps from the water. My recommendation (and what our group did) was we didn't have any plans to actually get a cabana there. It was our "take it easy day". But early afternoon we saw there were still unfilled cabanas so I walked over to the rental place near the entrance to the pool. Negotiated the price down and had them throw in some free food like nachos and stuff. This was on a weekend in August.

Where are you going to get a better deal than 600 cabana with a bottle. AND FYI you can get Goose. Do it everytime there.

Since you ask...lol. I am assuming you are going with my $600 pricing.

Have done a lot of phone calls to the major pools and let me explain why Flamingo's not a good deal for most groups and why MC pool is the final decision for this trip with this group. The group is also staying at Harrah's. We did MC hotel and pool MDW 2011 so we know what the pool is like there and had a blast. We also know about current construction at MC and does not effect the pool in any way.

I promised the fiance a pool day while in Vegas and got/did $200 down payment to lock in/paying for the tab the executive cabana for my fiance and her 9 gf's while the guys in the group (10) gamble. Taking that into account, I got the executive cabana at Monte Carlo for $800, doing a weekend day, which is F&B commitment and cabana included. Primarily specialty drinks for the ladies in this group so bottles don't do much for this group and 1 bottle of Goose won't do much in this scenario.

$600+ 1 bottle of goose+cabana at Flamingo. Good deal so far?

I have a cabana for up to 20, guys can join later if we want at no cost, and the girls have $800 to spend on food and beverages that will be charged to my card at the end of the day no matter what. The group of women are not huge drinkers and will share plates of food, etc so it will be close if they can get $800 used. Even if they do $600 only and the guys need to come in and kill $200 in shots, drinks or food to reach the $800 min, that is all I am paying plus tax and tip. I take your deal at Flamingo ($600+1 Goose and cabana) and apply the food and beverages at MC the girls did that day ($600), Flamingo is $1200 plus tax and tip on my card. If the girls kill the entire $800 in F&B and nothing else beyond tip and tax, Flamingo is $1400 plus tax and tip in this case taking your deal.

Ok you negotiate $350 day of to get the cabana, add the $600 we're at $950 at Flamingo or $1100 if they max the $800. You literally have to get the cabana for $200 or less and still add any food and beverages beyond the bottle to match the offer I am locked in for.

Even if the total bill is say $1250 before tax and tip because guys come later and we do shots, drinks and some food or girls gone wild and we don't need to show up, Flamingo deal is now $1850 befor tax and tip. Ok $350 negotited day of is $1600 at Flamingo. My commit is $800 plus tax and tip, anything above is covered by everyone else split evenly and paid to me since my card is the only one being used. Doing that because that helps on my MLife status. Flamingo is not worth it . She and the gf's are happy.

Other quotes they sent me at MC that are through October of this year:

For the VIP Canopy Bed: $450 F&B minimum Fri-Sunday $350 min any other days
Luxury Cabana: $550 F&B minimum, $450 any other days 4-10 people
          Executive Cabana $600 Mon-Thurs F&B min $800 F&B min Fri-Sun anything from 4- 20 people

Link to description of all cabanas and beds:

          http://montecarlo.com/pool-amenities/cabana.aspx

So for $50 less on the weekend I get food & bev min plus the same cabana type as you are getting for $600 and you are still paying for the food, any other beverages beyond the bottle, tax and tip also.

Take a look at what your total bill was last time you did Flamingo and compare it to the MC deal alone. Food and bev min plus cabana kills the Flamingo deal. No one does what Flamingo is doing based on the pools I called (Encore, Marquee, Palms, Wet Republic, Bagatelle and others). There are better deals out there and you will save this way when you look at the numbers. Flamingo: $600 for real estate/cabana and 1 bottle of Goose vs everything presented for MC alone by me. All other pools are F&B minimums plus the cabana. Personally, Flamingo is screwing people when a cabana is involved. They are charging you $600 for a cabana, 2 chairs and a bottle of Goose.

            Thanks for everyone's responses!

I understand how Flamingo basically charges you for the cabana separate. The issue is for now, its just me and another friend and it seems the better pools are charging higher mins. Thursday, Flamingo is charging a cabana around $500 w tip, which includes only one bottle. Question is, could I find a price for this thursday at a BETTER pool with the same price range for F&B (take away the bottle)?

Assuming you haven't done this already, I would text the hosts directly and tell them your budget and let them tell you what they can do for this Thursday. Here's the link to all of them that are recognized by JC and mention you are a JC member.

                Hope this helps.

Think of it however you like but the $500-600 price is for the bottle AND the cabana no separate charges.
