What can you carry in to daylife events?

I just read a post where A guy said he had to pay 20$ to check his bag into a storage with the staff before entering EBC. Is this true? What can and what can't you bring in? The guy was not clear on what kind of bag and what kind of stuff he had. I know you can't bring food, drink or alcohol. Can you bring an over the shoulder draw string bag to hold phone, money, sunscreen, lotion, maybe some contact eye drops, Chapstick.... Can't really imagine bringing anything else. It sounds like a stupid question to me but the post I just read as part of a trip report made it sound like the guy had a bag with the same stuff and had to check the bag before going in. I've been to day life events and never had a issue but it's been a couple years since I have been and I've never been to EBC in general.

You can usually bring in a small bag. But, the less you bring the better. EBC and Wet have the strictest doors as pool parties go.

Bring a small cheap bag, bring screen, case for eyewear if you wanna take em off, nothing else of value, no cash, open a tab at the bar and let server hold that and ID... If you lose that bag or it gets stolen, who cares, nothing in it. ID, Card at bar, leave wallet in room in safe, bring a card and ID..

If you're one of those folks who can't be without your phone for pics or whatever, but don't have a lifeproof case, then something like this is decent and will comfortably fit into the pockets of most guys' swim trunks. (I personally wouldn't use headphone jack but why would you need it at a pool party)

If you can cut the cord and leave your phone in a locker or back at your room, then something simple like this for ID/Cards/Cash/room Key/etc (plus a PicoPen and a few cards for getting numbers) is a cheap fail safe as well.
