Will be in Vegas June 6-10. Looking to go to a pool party, what are the top ones to head to? 10 guys, have to get cabana or can we go pre-sale route and just make sure we get our asses there on time?

Hey welcome to the Forum. Here's a quick guide from JC.COM
Friday and Saturday: All pool parties are solid options on Fridays and Saturdays, so you should narrow them down using our guides based on what type of party best fits what you are looking for in terms of being the busiest, a megaclub, an intimate party, topless, or more relaxed.
Sunday: Wet Republic, Encore Beach Club, and Rehab.
Monday: Bare Pool (Topless), Hard Rock’s Relax
Tuesday: Not a great day for any pool party.
Wednesday: Not a great day for any pool party.
Thursday: Tao Beach, Liquid, Wet Republic.

Personally I think if you guys have the money, and it's a bachelor party, look into getting a cabana or table. Guarantees entry without line. But if you guys are on a budget, then pre-sale is the way to go, the lines are usually shorter for pre-sale. Just make sure to show up early so that you are able to get in before it gets packed (they hold the line longer when it's packed).

So June 6-10 is Thurs-Monday.
What kind of music do you prefer? Most pool parties play EDM, though that ranges from house/electro (e.g. EBC) to trance (e.g. MDC).
For a group of your size, you are looking at $300-500 just on entry, so I'll leave it to you whether you'd rather just get a daybed and put that entry money towards your minimum. Ultimately it's down to your budget - you can do daybeds some days, then just go GA on others. Wet Republic tends to be one of the better parties to go GA.
A rough plan could be:
Thursday - Liquid (Isaac Kaz Curry 702.900.6755) or Tao Beach (Chris Traer 702.510.5286). You should be able to get a good deal form these lads.
Friday - Wet Republic (Thomas Gorman 702.340.6498) or Marquee Dayclub (Cliff Orr 586.489.4531). Wet Republic will have the Hakkasan DJs performing there and has a pretty solid group of DJs. MDC is more on the trance side of things. Up to your musical preference.
Saturday - Daylight, which will be the newest pool party. (Noah Ortiz 323.919.6529). If you like Kaskade, he is performing at MDC this day (so then maybe do Daylight on Friday).
Sunday - EBC, which is (I think) currently the best place on Sundays (Anthony Khotsikian 702.238.6186). It will no doubt get a lot of competition this year from Daylight/Wet Republic, so hopefully that starts putting a little bit of downward pressure on the prices.
Monday - Bare at Mirage. Haven't been there myself, but it gets a lot of positive feedback on the JC forums as being the best place on Mondays. Not sure who you should contact.
All of that is subject to your musical preferences when full DJ lineups are revealed.
When you sort out your itinerary, get presales on the days you want to go GA. The normal line can be a clusterfuck and you will probably (a) have to grease to get a walk-in or skip the line and (b) pay more on the actual cover price.EastCoast: "I will preach. Vegas is easy. So easy. Either be rich or good looking (or mooch off someone who is one of those). If you are neither, then sit back, let the rich and/or good looking people sort their shit out, and then take their scraps. Booking early is not going to get you ahead of the rich and/or good looking people. Sucks unless you are rich or good looking. But that's what makes Vegas so great. It is completely transparent."

Thanks for the quick feedback. Thinking this is our best option:
Saturday - Daylight, which will be the newest pool party. (Noah Ortiz 323.919.6529). If you like Kaskade, he is performing at MDC this day (so then maybe do Daylight on Friday).
We're looking at a lot for bottle service I imagine - around $1500 for 5 guys, $3000 for all 10, or is this more/less than we should expect?
Alternatively, if we don't go the cabana route, we're staying at the Cosmo - if we're right there at open can we get in? Should we get pre-paid? Just want to know what all our options are, $3000 seems a bit steep.

Staying at Cosmo you get free entry to Marquee dayclub/nightclub on Fridays and Mondays (not sure if you also get entry to MDC on Sundays??). If you want to go there on Saturday, then buy a presale ticket in advance so you have no worries in the line with a group of your size.
Roughly $300 a head for a daybed/cabana is roughly the going rate at all the big pool parties. Daylight pricing isn't out yet, but if there's anyone that can try and work within your budget, it's Noah.
One way to keep the cost down might be to get a daybed for 8 people, then have 2 people buy presale tickets? When the total cost is split 10 ways, you can probably fit within your budget. Anyway, contact Noah and he will give you your options.
EDIT: Just re-read your post and I'm not sure if you meant you wanted to go to Daylight or Marquee on Saturday. If Marquee, then replace Noah with Cliff 586.489.4531. However, if I was you I'd save some coin by doing Marquee Dayclub on Friday (free entry for Cosmo guests), then do Daylight on Saturday with a daybed/cabana.Last edited by ocam; 04-03-2013, 05:06 PM.EastCoast: "I will preach. Thanks for the info mayor. Think we're pretty set on Saturday Marquee Day Club, but don't know if our whole group wants to pay $300 each. Maybe half (or more) get the cabana, and then the others get pre-sale. Should be alright, pre-salers won't mooch off the cabaners so that won't be an issue, and the group will still be in the same place.

Daylight opens Memorial Day Weekend (late May). So in terms of the current open places, I would rank them EBC > Wet Republic > Marquee > Rehab on Sundays.
My view is that Daylight will be #1 or #2 on Sundays -- time will tell. I'm not a fan of trance, which is why only particular Marquee DJs would interest me. Wet Republic has a VERY competitive DJ lineup now. I think Rehab is living off its past glory - it's great if you want a very loose party, but it's not at the heights of EBC.EastCoast: "I will preach. Vegas is easy. So easy. Sunday day
Most pool parties will have EDM DJs. However, Rehab @ Hard Rock (Dave Lancy 330.984.8727) will be "open format" (i.e. a mix of music) but is more of a Spring Break kind of crowd and atmosphere.
If you were looking for a "classier" establishment, then there is:
-Encore Beach Club (my favourite) @ Encore (Anthony Khotsikian 702.238.6186);
-Daylight @ Mandalay Bay (the newest pool party, opening late May -- which I will definitely check out and could be the "it" place when you're there) (Noah Ortiz 323.919.6529); and
-Marquee Dayclub @ Cosmopolitan (Cliff Orr 586.489.4531).
Wet Republic @ MGM (Thomas Gorman 702.340.6498) falls in between Rehab and these places -- a good, fun party, but not as upscale as EBC/Daylight/MDC.
Sunday night
The Bank @ Bellagio (Joey Orr 586.873.4876) for hiphop though for a good party, XS Nightswim (Bobby Yeadon 708.714.0280) is solid (though it will be electronic music).
Monday day
Bare @ Mirage
Monday night
Marquee @ Cosmopolitan (Cliff Orr 586.489.4531) depending on which DJ is booked that night. Sometimes they have guys like DJ Vice who you might like, but other times it's really trancey (Gareth Emery etc) which is probably not up your alley.
XS @ Encore (Bobby Yeadon 708.714.0280) sometimes has Diplo or Redfoo on Mondays, so just check who is there closer to the date of your trip.
Tuesday night
1OAK @ Mirage is the best pick for Tuesdays. You should be able to get a b1g1 or b2g1 through Joey Orr (586.873.4876).
Wednesday night
Use this night to check out some live music. Indigo Lounge @ Bally's is supposed to be good for rock. Anyone else care to comment?
There used to be La Scena @ Venetian and then Salute @ Palazzo (now both closed) which played rock music. I think the Zebra Lounge @ Palazzo is intended to replace them.Last edited by ocam; 04-07-2013, 06:01 PM.EastCoast: "I will preach. Vegas is easy. So easy.
