  • Cabana Location vs "All The Action"

I'm very interested in everyone's opinion/preference relative to the cabana locations at Wet, EBC, and MDC versus where majority of the action takes place. This summer will be the first time I'll be heading out with a large group of guys, 15 to be exact, and the last thing i'm looking to do is spend $4k - $6k on a freakin cabana that's located far from the action and foot traffic...i.e 2nd floor Encore Beach

I know there are those who would prefer to be secluded in their own respective area however my boys and I looking to rage and have a good time amongst all the other party goers as well.

Wet is being re-designed for this year - from what I've heard, the party cabanas that flank the south wall are being re purposed as proper Cabanas (Deluxe Cabanas). Those are in the heart of the action. The other Deluxe Cabanas on the East Wall are a bit further away from the action, but still a great time.

EBC is one of the more roomy spaces for Daylife, but because of that the 2nd Floor Cabanas do feel somewhat removed from the rest of the party.

MDC - - everything is in the heart of the action. The regular Cabanas are 2, maybe 3 steps away from the pool. Their Deluxe Cabanas (with their own infinity pools) are also right on top of the action - - can't get a bad spot at MDC.

Good topic, i have a similar situation with a big group who wants to rage in style, and would like to hear some opinions. For example at EBC would it be better to get a couch or 2 rather than a 2nd floor cabana? Are the couches even really in the middle of the action or are they off to the side? Whats the prime spot!

        Thanks this def helps out.

Concerning Wet, are you saying that their party cabanas will now be located in the heart of the action? Or that the party cabanas that previously flanked the south wall are now being converted to deluxe cabanas which in turn located in the prime area?

Here is a screen cap. of Wet Republic. Hopefully someone that has been there can fill you in on the best locations if you dont want the cabana. For 15 guys, 2 - 10 person sectionals, would be good, and there's room for "guests". I'm referring to the ones at the bottom of the image. I think they would be cheaper than the ones up on the stage area.

At EBC I'd go for the lily pads or beach couches to be right in the action

Their 'Party Cabanas' were already in the thick of things - - from what I understand they're just being fancied up a bit to the standard of their Deluxe Cabanas.

Right on! If you want to be in the shit show, that's where it is. But, personally, I like to be able to talk to a chick and they are everywhere, so being away sorta helps and you can go in and out of the action when you want and not stuck in it all day like the pad. Matter of taste and how I feel that day..

As between the big pool and little pool, choose the big pool.

So what would you suggest as the prime location for EBC? Where you can go in and out of the action like you said.

I've had a beach couch before and recommend it. If you want to be IN the water (we didn't) then you can't get closer than a lilypad.

Here was our view from the beach couch: beach couch.jpg

Good foot traffic, but enough space that it didn't feel claustrophobic. And only 2 steps away from the pool.

Unfortunately you can't see it in that pic, but just to the right there is a shower that the girls used to put on a show for us.

EDIT: Not my pics, but this is the shower I'm talking about -> img2194.jpg images.jpg

for EBC you would pick a beach couch vs a Cabana on the 1st floor? How big was the beach couch?

Depends on your group size and budget. We had 3 people so a beach couch was perfect.

If I had a group of up to 6, I'd go for a couple beach couches. Lilypad/water couches aren't my thing - (a) I wouldn't like it if my phone/other stuff got wet from people swimming around and (b) you can't get food on them. Not that I want to eat, but since you're there through lunch, I'd want the option of having a quick bite.
                          If I had a group of 7-8, I'd go for a daybed.
If I had a group of 9-12 then I'd be looking at a cabana.
If I had a group of 12+ then I'd have a think about cabana vs pair of daybeds (because I feel like the cabanas are just so far away from the pool).

I'm going to be with a group of 11, are there any couch options besides the beach couches that aren't too far out of the action? I've seen some pictures of couches on the ebc website but they dont really show you location. I think I'd rather do a couch or 2 with tabels in the middle than a daybed, seems like it would be more room and more comfortable. On the other hand I guess two daybeds would work, and would be alot of real estate. The only reason I am shying away from a cabana is that it appears, from pictures and what I've read, to be too far out of the action...

If you have the budget for a first floor cabana, do it.

If you were worried about budget, then get one daybed (fits 8) and get presales for the other 3. You can split the total cost and it will push it way down. Obviously this limits room for additional women.

2 daybeds will cost you much the same as a first floor cabana I think.
