Pool Paty : Advice for a Vegas Virgin?

Ok so, a friend and I will be making our way to the USA and to Vegas from Australia (Perth) between July 1-5. 2 Girls, looking to have a good time and make the short time we spend in vegas memorable (even if the memories are fuzzy).

We are staying at the MGM so logically we will probably give Wet Republic a try but I have a few practical questions about pool parties.
1. where do you put your stuff? for real guys no one wants their crap stolen.
2. rough estimate of the price of drinks?
3. personal opinion, what is the best one?
4. is it worth doing or should we save ourselves for the night ?

1. I always take a glad bag to protect my phone/wallet/cash getting wet. You'll need to have someone watch over your stuff if you want to go walkabout - just like at any other club/bar/restaurant. It's easier if you have a table/couch/etc cos you can just hide it under a cushion.

2. Drinks are relatively expensive, even for Aus prices once you factor in tips to the bartenders. To give you an idea, have a look at Wet Republic's site which has its prices for jugs of cocktails and frozen drinks (http://wetrepublic.com/menu/specialty_cocktails).

3. Personal opinion, the best one is Encore Beach Club, but its best day is Sunday (on normal, non-holiday weekends). The new "Daylight" pool party @ Mandalay Bay will be fantastic this year, but there are hardly any details out about it at the moment. Wet Republic will generally be much better now that the DJs from Hakkasan (like Calvin Harris) will be spinning there.

Recommended pool party also depends on the day of the week. Looks like July 1 to 5 is Monday to Friday (surprised you don't want a weekend), so your options are a bit more limited. Obviously 4 July is Independence Day in the US, but I think the special events happen on the Fri-Sun rather than the Thurs on which July 4 falls.

Your broad options:
Monday - Bare @ Mirage
Thursday - Liquid @ Aria or Tao Beach @ Venetian.
Friday - Wet Republic @ MGM, Ditch Fridays @ Palms or Tao Beach @ Venetian. Marquee Dayclub and Encore Beach Club will probably also be open since it's July 4 weekend, but I'm not 100% sure.

I would personally do:
-Monday at Bare; and/or
-Friday at (a) Wet Republic if you can get in free since you are staying at MGM or (b) Encore Beach Club/Marquee Dayclub/Daylight (if open) if you want to go to a "Tier 1" premium venue.

4. Pool parties are definitely worth doing since they are a totally different experience to nightclubs and there's nothing like it here in oz (Ivy Pool is nothing compared to the LV pool parties). I would try and back up the same night (just have a few hours nap between the events to recharge).

P.S. Let me know if you want help re nightclubs to visit (but I'll need to get a sense of what kind of music you like i.e. top 40/hip hop vs house/dance)
