  • Pool party virgins!!

    Hi Guys,

We are 9 girls travelling from the UK in May all between 20-30.

We're hoping a few pool parties will be on the agenda but none of us have been to Vegas before so we just have a few questions.

We're not flashy people, we don't have 1000's of dollars to spend on bungalows/cabanas etc. Which are the best pool parties with general admission, or where we would get a good deal for 9 people? If you go general admission does this mean you have nowhere to sit all day?

Also I've noticed alot of people talking about prices of bottles, do you have to buy bottles or can you just get a round of drinks at the bar?

I know I sound very naive but being from the freezing UK pool parties are alien to us

Thanks in advance for your replies

If anyone has any other tips for 9 girls in May, they would be very welcome!!

9 decent looking girls shouldn't have a problem getting into most places in Vegas...contact a host on the homepage of this site and ask them to put you on their guestlist...for what suggestions on what parties to hit up, check out this thread:

    http://forums.jackcolton.com/showthr...ening-closing)

usually with general admission you'll have to show up early to claim spots to lay out your towel and yes, you will be able to buy rounds at the bar...table/bottle service allows your group to have a place to sit, lay down your bags, and dedicated server to order from

What days of the week were you planning on doing pool parties? What kind of music do you like (electronic music or top 40/hip hop)?

The reason I ask is that "recommended" pool parties vary by day, and different places play different music.

If you get entry via general admission or presale tickets you can sit around the edge of the pools, on pot plants, etc (or join up with groups of guys).

You can buy drinks at the bar just like any other bar/nightclub. But the drinks are reasonably expensive so if you are drinking heavily, sometimes bottle service (i.e. you are given a seated location like a lounge/daybed/cabana with a minimum spend requirement which can be used on booze/food) works out cheaper. Obviously, pre-gaming is the way to go if you are aiming to keep costs down.

If you are neither, then sit back, let the rich and/or good looking people sort their shit out, and then take their scraps. Booking early is not going to get you ahead of the rich and/or good looking people. Sucks unless you are rich or good looking. But that's what makes Vegas so great. It is completely transparent."

Group of 9 girls? if your group is attractive/decent looking, then you'll get taken care of. open bar wristbands and/or comped covers.

i would just contact a host before hand and set something up.
          Next trip: ???

            Jerseygirl whats your budgets?

How much you taking away and what you expecting to spend on a pool party?

Reason I ask is if you can have a good estimate you can work this well.

So you will have options of day beds, cabanas and bungalows at most pools. Bungalows and Cabanas are probably gonna be out of your price range unless you wanna spend about $500 each on a pool party day. So youre looking at day beds.

A day bed for 4 is about $1000 at Encore Beach or Marquee Day Club (they're the two best ones i think). Wet republic dont bother getting a day bed, the venue lends itself much better to General Admission so just turn up there.

But for Encore Beach and Marquee Day Club I would get a a day bed. They are usually for 4. But dont let that deter you.

The total cost plus the 28% tax and gratuity is around $1300. So split that between the 9 of you and thats $140 each. It gets you $1000 dollars worth of drinks and food. Also gets 4 through the door.

The remaining 5 of you would have to go in General Admission. Like alot say, youll likely get in free if youre there early, worst case it'll be $30 each. So thats another $150 to split between 9... $16 each.

Complicated maybe, but then you have a day bed in the venue between all 9 of you, the 5 girls on general admission are technically your "guests". So for a total of $155 each you have a load of alcohol and a base to chill and party around. Anything else you spend above your $1000 minimum spend is up to you lot...

As for pool parties to go to.

The best two as I mention are Encore Beach Club (at the Encore hotel) and Marquee Day Club (At the cosmopolitan). Theyre the trendiest, most luxurious newest ones. Youll have an amazing time at either. They are also very busy, so get there later than 12 and you are not getting in, end of story, whether you have a day bed / cabana etc booked or not

Wet Republic (at MGM Grand) is another tried and tested pool party, rowdier than the first two and more low key. Its a great spot to turn up and have a blast without planning. Dont bother getting cabanas or bottle service here, as I said previously its cool enough to just chill there and not worry about bottle service as most the fun is in the pool. Gets very busy around 2/3pm. If splashing in the pool and chucking inflatables around annoys you dont go here!

Rehab (at the Hard Rock) is another, older spot. I didnt go last year, did the year before. Its good, but others are better.

Tao Beach (at the Venetian hotel) is a smaller but very cool pool party and well worth checking out

Theres others such as Bare - where topless is allowed etc - that I have not personally been but others say are good.

Where are you staying? If youre at the MGM for example you get in for free to Wet Republic before 1pm if youre a hotel guest

Shouldn't have a problem getting gl at any of the pool parties. Now, if the group is attractive, a host can work some magic, lower mins, no mins, intro to clients.. Etc.. One of The advantages of looking good in a bikini. Can't speak for every pool venue or host but I had some flex even on busy days for a special girl group and I know my buddies I refer to at wet and Ebc pulled some crazy strings for a good girl group.

Thanks so much for your replies!!

The one I really wanted to go to was Wet Republic as that's the one we hear most bout here in the UK but I will speak to my girls about all your ideas (thanks again)

We're going 9-16th so after joining this forum I soooooo wish we'd gone the week later for the invasion

A few people have said to speak to the hosts, how do I do this? Is it better to just go in a few days before and speak to someone? Or try and speak via email before we go?

How do you contact a host?

Contact a Jack Colton recommended host 2 weeks out from your trip (text preferred). The current host contact threads are http://forums.jackcolton.com/showthr...ion-Nightclubs (for nightclubs) and http://forums.jackcolton.com/showthr...ormation-Pools (for pool parties). Most hosts have WhatsApp for the cell/mobile phone to allow international guests to contact them.

You should also contact your host a few days before the intended date, so that they know that you are still coming.

What should you tell the host?

Sounds like you just want to be put on a guest list. Tell the host that you are hoping to be put on a guestlist with 8 other girls, and the host will let you know what he can do for you.

My opinion is that table service is ALWAYS the way to go if you can afford it. If I were you, I'd go ahead and also ask the host what price they can do for a daybed or cabana (no harm in asking right?). Just be sure to tell your host:
                    • your budget (inclusive or exclusive of tips/taxes)
                    • the size and ratio of your group (sounds like 9 people, all females)
                    • the size of your host tip
                    • if you know, the location that you want
                    • that you are a member of the Jack Colton forums.

Your host will try the best he can to accommodate you and will let you know if what you are after is doable, or what alternatives they can do based on your budget.

Re Wet Republic, it's a good party - it will get even better DJs (e.g. Calvin Harris) since I think the Hakkasan DJs will sometimes play at Wet Republic during the day time. You say you're hoping to do a "few pool parties" so I would still keep Wet Republic in mind. FYI, 2013 pricing for Wet Republic is here: http://forums.jackcolton.com/showthr...c-2013-Pricing

Since you are a group of girls, you might be able to get even lower prices than those listed. The numbers in brackets are the number of people that apply.

                      Hey Jersey,

Wet republic has a reputation over here in the UK - but trust me, Encore Beach Club and Marquee Day Club are better by quite a distance. Take a look online.

Wet republic is good fun, its a laugh, but the entire set up at the other two I mentioned is much better. They hold a much better atmosphere due to how they are designed and all that.

If I were you and there was one pool party I had to go to its Encore Beach Club. Wet republic is great, but not really in the same league.

Its worth a visit, but do it off the cuff. If youve got a weekend, make sure you plan a trip to Encore Beach, and then go to Wet Republic on a seperate day. There's really no need to plan a trip there, just turn up and go in on General Admin. Just make sure you are there before 3 cos thats when it gets real busy.

For encore beach you need to be there much earlier. More like 11am.

Some great advice above. I would suggest you wait until a few weeks before your trip to see the lineup at the various venue and then plan from there. Normally fridays Marquee is the best venue because it is smaller than the others and since most people arrive later in the day it will still fill up. Saturday Encore Beach club or Wet Republic are the top 2 options and if you arrive early (10-11am) and contact someone to place you on a guest list you will get in (however there is a line). A daybed is a great option because you will have a place to put your belongings, have a home base and not have to wait on a long line to get into the venue. Instead of having to get drinks from the bar, a waitress serves you and you will eat during the day and so you should plan on spending around $100 each.

Show some skin and you're in. No problem. Lots of guys will buy you drinks or invite you their table area.

Host tip of $50-$100 per bottle is common
