I never ask people to tip for guestlist simply because it doesn't cost us any time or money, and all you do is walk to the door give your name and the service is over and you're in. There's no real extra service involved in this, and it only eats up about 5 seconds of my time so no need. Tip for hosted entry, table service, or if your being hosted and the host gives you a bunch of free drinks or walks you passed a line then I say tip's okay. Please don't tip promoters for adding you to a guestlist (it's part of their job and part of their weekly paycheck). If they get you comped entry for guys, well then that's up to you.

Quick question, we booked our cabana through the hotel directly. Who should we tip? The person taking us to our table or the person taking care of us throughout the day?

Good rule of thumb for tipping...if you're in a situation where common manners would dictate saying thank you....you should probably tip.
How much you tip, or whether you tip someone more than once is totally up to you.

Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.
