  • Best Hotel Pool Choices

Just wanted to get some opinions on the general pool scene at a couple hotels. I'm headed out in four weeks with some friends and above all, we're looking for a really strong day scene. Stayed at Cosmo and Venetian a couple times recently and while they're great hotels and get crowds at night, I thought the pickup scene was pretty weak during the day. Somewhere like MGM on other hand, has a pool area the size of seven football fields that's usually packed every day.

I need some opinions - Discounting the pool clubs (Wet Republic, Tao Beach, EBC, etc.), what's the strongest general hotel pool scene from the following:

    1) MGM
    2) TI
    3) Mirage
    4) Aria

For the general pool, I agree with you and always like MGM. I've had good and kinda boring experiences at Mirage. MGM seems to attract a bit younger crowd, but both are generally good. And if either really sucks, you can always walk to Wet or Bare. Never been to Aria, so I can't speak to that. And the last time I was at TI was quite some time ago, but out of the ones you listed, I would stick with MGM or even Mirage over TI.

As another choice, if you'll be there over a weekend, Encore is a dope choice because they have their adult pool which usually gets pretty bumpin. And depending on what kind of crowd you want, etc, especially if you're there over a weekend, the Palms pool is always a fun time.

MGM. No question. MGM is so big that you have a great sampling of all age demographics. Yes you get kids and families, but you also get a lot of people partying. The lazy river is great. And as novanto noted if the pool scene is not happening you can walk to Wet.

TI's pool unless it has changed is not good at all, MGM is very nice and Mirage is as well but it gets real crowded there so you need to get there early. As far as the scene I feel that MGM outside of Wet is more families.

+1 on the Encore European pool.
It is 21 and over. They play great music fairly loud.
A "european" looking women, but a fun scene nonetheless.
You have your choice of: younger crowd (but maybe snobbier than you'll find at TI because Encore is more expensive), recenlty divorced women looking to "get loose" and a good scene of women in their late 20's/early 30's that have kept themselves in great shape.
We got a poolside daybed on a Saturday and had a blast.

I was just at TI on Saturday May 12. The pool isn't big or anything but we rented a cabana with 8 girls for $250 and the DJ was awesome! We all had a great time and there was tons of young people aged 21-35. There was some families but more so in the morning and once the DJ came on they left and it was one big party. We liked it there because it wasn't huge it was a good size for what we were looking for and it wasn't expensive.

From your list MGM or Aria. I've stayed at MGM many times but when I'm there I just go to wet. Aria's pool in nice and more of a relaxing area.
