  • Marquee Dayclub Grand Opening April 21

My casino host set up a daybed for me for the Grand Opening of Marquee Dayclub with Avicii on April 21 for half of the lowest rate that I was quoted directly from my host at Marquee by pulling a major favor as he said. He has set up things before at lower minimums for me and I never had a bad table resulting out of this, but never for a major event like this so can I safely assume that this probably will be in one of the least desirable spots in the club and I better get there very early so I won't get bumped by the first person that offers a higher minimum? Or should my reservation be safe as he has a pretty big cloud when it comes to being a casino host.

I am really not as concerned to the location as I have yet to find a bad location in that club, but I surely would be pissed if I get bumped of the list.

I've never been bumped off a list when I was put on by a casino host, the worst that could happen is you will have to pay normal minimums.

This was a shit show for people trying to pick up pre-sale tickets. Apparently, their machine went down and they had to manually check people against a list for tickets and it literally took 4 hours to get them because the Marquee people were so fucking unorganized. A whole bunch of people just gave up on getting tickets when they quoted an ETA of 3.5 hours. It was a fucking disaster for people picking up tickets, and those who gave up were not guaranteed to get a refund...

If your casino host set you up, you should be fine.

Yeah I was totally fine there, as expected I probably had one of the least desirable locations near the restroom where the shadow hits early but to be honest with the heat that day I was actually happy once the shadow hit and there still was enough traffic while being not in the totally overcrowded interior. I had an amazing time for sure. The crowd was nuts and it was tons of fun. It did seem that they still had some kinks to work out, like how to deal with the crowd downstairs and waitress assignments, but once we had our first bottle and pitcher of yummy Painkiller we were just partying our butts off for the whole time.

Not sure why they should get a refund. Its not a ticket to a concert, its discounted pre-paid cover to a pool party. There is no guarantee on how long you will have to wait in line.

They don't "deserve" a refund but it would be a good faith move to offer them. Of course there is no guarantee to long you would have to wait in line but everyone here would agree that the purpose of pre-sale tickets is to avoid absurd lines.

I understand what your saying, but the "purpose" is assumed by the consumer, NOT implied by the venue. At least not to my knowledge. If they were turned away, Id rally for compensation, but they werent. They were just told the wait time was long.

Definitely. I'm not claiming MDC would be in the wrong for not offering refunds. I'm just saying it would be a nice gesture if they did.

Situations like this are among one of several reasons why I usually avoid pre-sale tix
