I wondered if that might be it

Is it a play on sunblock strength, or does it stand for something?

So I understand when it comes to nightclubs its all about getting a table, your own space, invite girls ect ect.

My question is does this rule of thinking apply to the pool parties as well? How much does having a bed or cabbanna add to the day? I have heard mixed reviews from people who had a cabbana saying they loved it and it is the only way to go and others saying it is good but they spent more time in and out the pool mixing with people so didnt need the cabbanna.

What are peoples thoughts on this. Do you go for the bed/cabbanna option or just rock up mingle with the crowd and save the tables for the night?

I like to get some space at the pool. Its a food and beverage min, and we end up spending the same amount of money so it make sense. Its easy to spend $100/person on food and alcohol for the day. Pitchers are usually $60-$100 a pop.

Depends where you go, when you go, if a special event is happening and what you're more interested in.

We like being "in" the party which happens in or very near the pool's edge... last bach party I went on (10 guys) we went to:

Ditch on Friday, got a daybed just to avoid cover charge, we held down a spot in the pool and in chairs along side it and had our waitress service us right there, pool side and in the pool and we didn't use the actual "daybed" once.

Wet on Sunday, got a daybed to avoid cover charge again, and same thing, got a spot in the pool by the ledge and had our waitress drop off our pitchers/drinks pool side. Probably sat on the actual daybed for a total of 5 minutes.

Besides, a daybed with a bunch of guys is just somehwere to put your stuff and avoid cover charge and lines. Can't picture a bunch of guys trying to sit on a queen size daybed for any reason during a party.

Just checking, you guys got a daybed but were also able to snag some chairs around the daybed? That didn't cost anything?

The chairs at the pool's edge @ Ditch did not cost anything extra for us.. Others may have paid for them, but no one was using them.. Some of the ladies that joined our group were dancing on them mostly.. It was Russel Simmon's Twin daughters bday @ Ditch that day and a few other celebs showed up (can't remember who at the moment). Great time. Waitress was acting skoonty though, but was all good . Spent about $1.5k.

Depends on where you go. In my opinion:
*Wet Republic - The Cabanas at Wet are totally worth it. Great location, it's a great spot to bring the party, and a good home base
*EBC - Depends where, but I don't dig the upper level ones. The pool at EBC is gigantic, so if you get there early enough it's super easy to find a poolside spot to claim
*Tao Beach - Lounge chairs are the way to go here. Lower minimums so you don't have to spend a ton to get one. It's good to have a home base here since the pool is kind of small and the layout is spread out.

if you have a group of guys get a daybed or cabana. When you add up how much it costs for cover + several drinks, it would have been around the same price. Plus people with tables n drinks are just cooler than everyone else
