  • Independence day 2012

    Hi,

my friends and I are going to be in vegas the first week of july. Do you know what we can expect? Are there pool parties all week long, since the 4th of july is a wednesday this year?

    Special DJ Line up maybe?

    Thanks in advance

I think I remember last year that the 4th is decent in Vegas, but not one of the busiest times. With it landing midweek, I would think it would be the same this year. My guess is the weekend before will be when you want to get in. Good news is that all pool parties that weekend will be slammed and you can definitely expect some big name DJs.
    Nothing interesting to add here...

i've gone the last 3 years during that time. its busy but nothing like MDW and LDW. it'll still be a good time. too early for final dj schedules.

i'm sure we will have a good time anyway. MDW or LDW maybe 2013 then, since i'm from austria it is not that easy to go that often to vegas

another question since you have been the last 3 years: are there poolparties on monday, tuesday and wednesday as well since the 4th of july is a wednesday this year?

I'll be going this year too, I also wondered when the actual partying for the 4th will be since it lands on a damn wednesday....based on what I've found, its the following weekend...thursday thru sunday the 5th thru the 8th...I'm basing that solely on the prices of the rooms and events planned for that weekend.

Hey. Was wondering if anyone could help me. Im going to both new york and las vegas in the first 2 weeks of july. However i have not decided in which order yet. I was wondering which of the two places would be the best place to be for the 4th July? With regards fireworks displays and stuff? Thanks

I've only been to Vegas for the 4th and they usually shoot them off Caesars. Two years ago I was at Flamingo with a view of the fireworks and last year in a Cosmo terrace studio that looked directly at the fireworks and Bellagio fountains. The latter was pretty amazing. The fireworks were maybe a little over 10 minutes and were good, but I feel like I've seen better and I'm sure it can't compare to the NYE fireworks display in Vegas.

Fair warning, immediately after the fireworks ended, we tried to get over to The Bank from Flamingo. There were people everywhere and the Bellagio wasn't letting anyone in until the crowds died down. The pedestrian bridges were absolutely packed and it took 10-15 just to get across them.

                    kimbo,
ya they shoot off the Fireworks off Caesars around 9, from what I recall.
We had something to eat in Chinatown that night and ended up just parking at the back lot of Rio to watch the fireworks. We didnt want to be part of the crowds that were lining up along LV Blvd around that time. We did get back in the area around 10 and things got back to normal.

Other than that, thats all the fireworks that you'll see.

As far as how busy July4th weekend is, its not as packed from what I recall as MDW is. It seemed like any other regular summer weekend, just busy enough but not outrageously crazy all over.
