A damsel in distress and you bounced?! Well, just chalk it up to a learning experience! Honestly though don't be so hard on yourself. Nobody should ever go to Vegas expecting to get laid. You might be disappointed. But IF it DOES happen then it makes the trip even more special!

The (Two Year) Aftermath

I hemmed and hawed about contacting Miss Ireland to see how she was doing. What can I tell you, I'm a procrastinator. That night I sent her a text, apologizing for leaving like that. It wasn’t like she was alone, she had her girlfriends there. I wait for at least several minutes and there’s no response. For the hell of it, I punch her phone number into Google, and the first link is to a Twitter account with her name attached to it. I click it, and it shows that her most recent tweets are links to her Instagram account. I go there and sure enough, it’s her, no doubt about it. I immediately follow her, and take a look at the photos she posted. Yeah, that story about having stuff stolen out of her purse had to be a lie because she was in Marquee the next night, no worse for wear.

A week later, I send her a group photo along with a text, but no response. It’s at this point that I realize she’s done with me. I couldn’t help but shed a few tears then either. For a few months, I continue to follow her on Instagram, and occasionally write a comment, but they were never acknowledged. I know what you’re all thinking as you read this, that I was a complete and utter fool back then. I sure was. I think it was in December of 2015 that I tried to send another text to her, but she had blocked my number. It was then that I unfollowed her on Instagram.

(Matt… You followed her for five months after this? How stupid are you? Welp, that’s what happens when you think with the wrong head.)

Empire 55 also messaged me with information about Miss Ireland. I won’t repeat it here, but it all makes sense.

Since that time I’ve been to Vegas multiple times. I’ve only met up with derekantarctica once more, but we’ve kept in touch, and I’m a little bummed that I’ll have to miss his wedding to a lovely, vivacious woman. There were a bunch of people in our group that weekend that I haven’t mentioned since most of them aren’t members of this site, but I’ve gone and partied with them a bunch of times, and they're great people.

I learned some lessons from this trip, and I made a lot of mistakes that I hope to never make again.

Wording this. The truth is, a lot of people overestimate how easy it is to get laid in Vegas. If you're successful with women in general, you'll probably do well there. But if you struggle normally and expect Vegas to be easy mode, you're in for a rude awakening. That's not directed at anyone in particular, just a general observation.

Also wording this. There's definitely a learning curve, especially if you're on the spectrum and don't intuitively pick up on things like social cues. Can't wait to read about your future adventures.

This was a great read. Don't feel too bummed out, talking to women in club/bar settings is really a numbers game. As my buddy used to tell me, there a girl that wants to sleep with you in this club tonight, it's up to you to find her.

Seriously though, in time and with practice, your game will improve and you'll get get better and more confident in dealing with these situations. Any wait to read more of your reports.
