I personally wouldn't go to any clubs in Vegas in anything even resembling tennis shoes, even if they are dressy. Too risky. If one of the bouncers is in a bad mood or the club itself is strict you might get kicked out of line. I've seen it happen before but not at Hakkasan.

This is my biggest gripe with Vegas. In LA can walk into any top club with whatever paticular promoter I know, wearing nice lacoste shoes, TR jeans/Diesel, and fitted vneck no prob. LA (imo) is more how attractive/hip you are and who you know, Vegas is more we know everyone is getting in paying top notch and doesn't know about clubbing, so you have to dress to the hilt. I cannot stand wearing dress shoes in a club. Button up I can deal with. Why do I want to rock $400 Ferragamos on a slick floor with alcohol spilled on it? Meh.

I feel like the only way to go is a comfortable pair of dress shoes you use exclusively for clubbing. I hear so many people worried about ruining a good pair of dress shoes, and they are totally right, if you go to a club and get on the dance floor there is an almost 100% chance your foot will be stepped on, you'll scuff it on something randomly on the dance floor, and you'll step where someone spilled a drink. Don't take your good dress shoes, save those for when you aren't expecting a ton of abuse.

Just buy a less expensive pair of dress shoes, and yes they probably won't look as nice as your good ones, but pretty much the only people looking at your shoes while clubbing are the bouncers. I once had a friend who managed to get into Tao wearing Vibrams since he had forgotten his dress shoes and got into Vegas too late to buy some, so pretty much anything is possible, lol, but I've seen plenty of people get kicked out of line when they had relatively low-key $100 tennis shoes. I'd never risk not getting in by not wearing dress shoes, it's just way too much of a hassle when your whole goal is to have a good time.

I love my lacoste loafers. good quality, looks great, and can take a nightclub beating. Got em for under $100 too.

If you're a regular club goer, just get a cheap pair of dress shoes you don't mind beating up a bit. Also, use those dress shoes for inclement weather back home if you need to justify buying an extra pair.

Another idea: go to Nordstrom Rack and get a decent pair on the cheap. They always have Cole Haans and things like that.
