Great Points, great discussion. I was going to mention that the one DJ I remember telling myself "oohhh this shit doesn't sound like everyone else" was Deadmau5. I mean deep, trancey, no pop songs, shit (not my cup of tea), but I could tell he had a style, that was at XS last year.
Diplo/Major Lazer - Yes my friend, now that you've seen Diplo at XS or Surrender/EBC, go see Major Lazer at 1Oak or Haze, the shit is bananas. First they decorate the whole club like a jungle, then everyone that works there dresses in military gear. They give those beret hat things to everyone that comes and it just goes off, I'm sure there's a video somewhere from haze the other week. But agree, Diplo, to me is the best actual DJ of all these big EDM type DJs, skillwise.
