I think its more the host's responsibility to stay on top of a reservation with reconfirmations. I also think a lot of the time people don't book till last minute (day of or day before) and the notion that something is sold out in Vegas is never the case.

who was the host? put their name out here so they have a chance to respond and so others can be more weary when dealing with that person.

i usually go through jared garcia for tryst and he hasn't let me down yet.

If you used one of Jack's recommended hosts, and you got burned the way you describe, definitely post the host name and either jack or one of the mods will follow it through.

We planned XS on the saturday during my last trip to Vegas. We waited in the reserved tables line only to be told once we got to the front we were not on the list but once showing our emails between us and our contact we were soon on our way in and had a great night.

x2 for Ryan. Dont know about the other hosts but Ryan is a down to earth guy and should not be mentioned in this thread

In regards to that. April of 2012 at XS, the day of, we had a table all set for around $3G (Avicii DJ'ing). After that we get 4 calls from red carpet VIP, the day of, saying if we wanted to keep our table it was now $5700. We kept it. Their excuse for the table increase was.......due to bad weather they had to close the outside part of XS forcing everyone in, thus jacking up table prices. Also we got to choose our own table. Is this all legit? Or did we take one up the yazooo? Should we have used the club host instead of red carpet??

Thats a pretty big jump, nearly doubled. I know some of these VIP companies are legit, but I ALWAYS use a host direct with the club. Personal preference

I would ALWAYS use a host direct from the club. Reason being thee "VIP" companies are not always legit and charge a fee on top of the already outrageous club prices. Often times they are just using hosts as well. Use the contacts on the first page or ask a vet for advice on who to contact in the future.

Especially when you were able to choose your location. That pretty much shows they just wanted to up your min.

Yelpers seem to like Red Carpet VIP: http://www.yelp.com/biz/red-carpet-vip-las-vegas

I don't think you necessarily made a bad choice going with them, but yeah it does sound like they screwed you over. You should make it known on Yelp so others can be on the look out for that.
