Those clubs will close because its their time to close

Reminds me of the Lamborghini / Ferrari story... rich tractor builder complains about his Ferrari and Ferrari snubs him, so he builds Lamborghini sports cars to stick it to him

If this middle eastern guy wanted to make a point he could of locked a couple more djs like Avicii and Afrojack. I wonder if Mr Wynn was outbid?

So are they having 2 dayclubs at MGM?

There's also Light up at Mandalay that's opening and may help to pull people south. Not quite ready yet to cancel my center-strip reservations though.

Its just like when Marquee was opening, when XS was opening. Hak will be the same thing. It will do very well but its not going to shut down places unless those places are already planned on closing. Between xs/tryst/surrender/encore beach tao/lavo/marquee having all the dj's this year and other clubs still did well or still slid by it will be the same thing. The places i DO think will be effected by Hakkasan opening is Lavo, tryst, surrender. Not that they will go out of biz but that out of all the companies properties those are kind of the ugly step childs. They book talent there because they have SO MUCH of it to go around. But now that there is another player in the game (AMG) you will see less and less talent at those spots. And its not just about talent that brings you to a club, customer service, customer experience etc will play a big part in Haks success. Expect a little resurgence from Pure and maybe Lax and don't be suprised if you start seeing a bit more of the old school celeb bdays/performances come back into play. I still think DJs are huge but they are getting too greedy and too quick. They had better be careful

and i do think the places that always ask for the 2k table with 500 handshake are going to take a hit and places that thought they could get by with poor customer experience because they were number one will take a small hit to.

There's lots of edm talent to go around. It's just the clubs with deep pockets get the dj mag top 10 djs. There are djs that can still rock it that don't have to be in that top 10 or even on that top 100 list. Maybe some clubs change it up and go on the
more real house and tech house sound Ibiza style. The next step for Vegas is to go beyond the commercialism of EDM. It would be cool to have a club where Richie Hawtin had a pool party residency. Just not sure if the Vegas crowd is proper enough for that stuff. I'm sure if Ritchie got booked at any of the current pool parties, he would get yanked since his sets are about layering sounds methodically. Not like the djs sets full of white noise build ups and snare rolls followed by electro style bass drops every 30 seconds. It would be cool to see if a Vegas venue can cater to a different genre of "EDM" and be successful.

Side note to all these DJ changes....does anyone know of a good calender that lists who will be playing where? Or is it best to just visit the website of each club. Looking for line-ups for Jan 17 - 21.
