Guest lists? Worth it?

What is the difference between being on the guest list, getting GA, or getting presales?

I guess that GA cannot guarantee a quick entry in the club if you don't get in early, but not sure about the difference between presales and getting a host to put us on the guest list?

Guestlist: Closes at 11, so have to be in line by that time.

Pre-sale: Line is on 3rd floor and usually not that long. Get in pretty quick. Only time it may get held up if club is it capacity but that usually doesnt happen until after 12ish.

General Admission: If you get in early enough, there's a line for that, but it will usually move pretty fast. Line looks long but they do go through people in a decent manner. As fast as each person can pay at the cashier. Same when at Capacity, its held up until people start coming out.

Basically get there 11 or before, or at least 12. After that, its questionable on how long lines are and certain big nights it hits capacity. You can try to grease at that point, but thats not 100% guaranteed and it will cost you more. So if you know you want to go to that club, get there early or presale. Simple as that.

Would guestlists work on a night there is a name DJ playing? Aoki is playing Surrender, and Tiesto is playing at XS on 7/6. I was wondering if I should put my girlfriend and her female cousin on a guestlist, while me and her cousins husband just buy presales and get there early and meet them inside. Seems like this might be the best bet. Or would it be possible to guest list all 4 of us? And if we do guestlist all 4 of us and the girls get in free, will we still have to pay full price at the door or even more day of? Thoughts & Opinions?

Its possible. But Tiesto is a big draw so it may be full already or it may just be women on the GL. I would contact who the GL person is at XS and ask.

Correct. The only thing I'll add is presales are good all night and even if there's massive lines outside, you'll almost always be able to walk in right away with zero wait. The only exception is if the fire ******** has stopped the door due to capacity and even then after however long, presales will be the priority along with tables for first to enter.

Yep. My wife and I just waltzed into TAO, Surrender, and Marquee on MDW. We showed up around 1030pm, 11pm, and 12am to each place. Presales are bomb.

I actually wonder how many presales clubs sell at any given night. Seems like most people dont take advantage because GA and GS lines are still insanely long.
