Took the shuttles last year and it sucked. We had to sit through traffic too (unlike Coachella shuttles) but don't really see a better option. Hope they hire more shuttles this year for the ride back.

My BF & I are going for a week and we're probably going to be renting a car anyway. Will it be any better/worse if we drove ourselves to EDC? Obviously traffic will be an issue with any form of transportation. He doesn't really drink so that's not an issue. He'll have like 1 drink max all night.Upcoming trips:

my experience last year was that getting there via the shuttle was a piece of cake... basically no wait to get on the busses and we left within 5-10 minutes. returning took a lot longer on friday than saturday as they added more buses for the weekend. We got a ride on Sunday but it basically wasn't any quicker than the shuttle as everyone is in the same traffic.
if you are okay with leaving say at 5am instead of at the 6am close, i'm sure you'll get back a lot quicker...Comment

I have no idea how crazy it is for EDC or how hard it is to get around, but I read an article where the city approved the use of a more fleets of vehicles that taxi companies can use for the expected demand. Like I said, I do not have any idea of the craziness so I have no idea if that will even put a dent into it helping.Las Vegas is sort of like how God would do it if he had money. ~Steve WynnComment

But try to enter EDC in from the main entrance. I remember entering on the side entrances friday and saturday and on sunday, i entered via the main entrance and i can honestly say it was an amazing experience, hands down.

Right now we are going EDC weekend but planning on just hitting up clubs, not the actual Carnival. Once we get to Vegas do you think it will be possible to scalp tickets to EDC if we change our minds?Comment
