how do you bring cash if your going in the water and dont have a home base to leave a wallet? was thinking of just bringing a credit card, do you need cash for anything that a credit card won't do?

I dont know what kind of room/setup your staying in, but last year we just ordered online from Vons. We had a huge suite with a large fridge so we stocked up for the week.

Prices seemed competitive, delivery was free and we didnt have to lug around cases of water/beer/pop.

How long did you have to wait for the delivery? I've always been tempted to try this but like to dump my shit and go, not wait around for a delivery. If delivery was quick or could be arranged for a specific time this would definitely be the way to go.

I honestly dont remember, I think one of my buddies was willing to crash in the room for a couple of hours one afternoon anyway and wait, but they came within the alloted hour I think.
If I recall correctly, they might have even given us a heads up call before they came, so I was at the pool chilling while we waited.

Pre trip - Order Vons online to have delivery right before you arrive & talk with hotel management prior to insure they will sign for said items.
Arrange for Presidential limo pick up where you can input said post arrival errands in the comments


Post landing - Go to In & Out

Go to Lee's discount liquor. Make a list BEFORE you start drinking that day, send in 1 or 2 members for strictly booze (everything else should be ordered through VONS)

Get to hotel, Eat In & Out, Party.

They did last year. This was a problem for us too, but it then occured to me that I had another friend who happened to be in town who was American, so I asked him to help us out and I paid him in cash. Got lucky, pays to know people.

This year, I already have that part considered before I head down. If you know anyone in the States who is willing to trust you, get the numbers from now.


I've done the liquor store thing, I've done the local grocery store thing, Im telling you....this is the way to go. I just hope I can get another nice suite with a fridge or 2 to give us a home base for this kind of order.

That's why I do a limo and just make a stop...you never need to stop drinking except for getting your luggage.

The advantages for me:

wouldnt miss anything, just easier online to me
easier to carry
dont pay for a cab there+back
(we arrive usually late at night, so our vons order is next day)

also, when we go, we are there longer then a week, so 1hour in the suite in the middle of the day Monday is not the end all of things.

though I do congratulate those of you who never stop drinking. cheers!

it depends on where you go. encore beach club has safes in the bottom of their beds and lily pads, etc. tao beach, however, does not. so when we're at tao beach, we just wrap the cash/cc up in some shirts and stuff and put it behind a pillow on the bed/couch. someone is usually sitting there at some point or another anyway. i'm not sure of the scenario for wet or mdc, so it depends on where you wanna go during the day.

Personally I just like to be more prepared, probably due to some undiagnosed OCD disorder, as well as I have found (especially with my ADD friends) that they will be all hopped up on Redbull and goose and will end up buying; A. Way to much or B. Not nearly enough. I just know the second I land in Vegas all I want to do is party not shop for supplies.

I suppose its just a time saver, VONS has always delivered on time for me so I have good faith in them.

I usually wrap a few bills around my ID and CC with a rubber band and keep it in my shorts. That way it is always on me and I dont have to worry about it. Bills may get a little wet but are still legal tender.
