The caveats are that you gotta get past the line by midnight and if the passes are old the club may no longer honor them.
Please tell me you didn't pay for them though! That's the key to this *warning* thread. A credible host/promoter/concierge/etc. - like Wisco mentions - will not ask for money in exchange for a pass.
but your suppose to tip them, arnt you?

Yes, but I usually make it a combo-action-pack.

For example... You are eating at a restaurant in the joint associated with the club. When the waiter/tress brings your check, you can ask them nicely if they can get you a complimentary club pass, and mention that you will add a little extra to the tip for them. You were tipping them anyway, now you are just adding a bit more to the tip.

Same with the person at check-in. While doing the $20 sandwich for a better floor/view/room, simply say "Hey, I heard alot of good things about club blahblahblah. Does the hotel have complimentary passes for guests?"

Voodoo (yeah yeah, I know, not the club for the cool kids, but I like it) will actually let you in for free if you sweet talk them and show them your room key.

It's basic social engineering. However, some people are naturals and others aren't. Thats why we have JC.com to help us get on guestlists, etc =)

Gallery/Chateau: - Dennis Lee - 818-279-3676 - from the Host contact thread. Not sure if Dennis is still the main POC but you may want to check with him and make sure. Great find!

Last year it was free admission and open tequila bar at Crown club in the Rio. It sucked. Alot. 20-25 people showed up. The tequila was some horrible rail stuff (didn't stop me from downing probably 20 shots, hey, free is free). The club closed at like 10PM and we all wandered up to Voodoo and kept drinking. Will have to check out Gallery though... Nice find Wil!

Yeah that was before Crown went urban and now brings 1500+ people a night.

Voodoo is also a nice spot for a cool view and a few drinks.

Good to know! I did really like the layout of it! Just dead and terrible booze back then. I will check it out againthis trip! Noticed some pretty good acts listed for Crown now.

Either way someone in your group makes the mistake - they PURCHASED passes for the night club. Yup. Happens all the time. It's the typical method for the "streets" to make quick cash - leaving you or your buddy feeling good until they hit the line...

I was at ___ last night and saw 3 different scams within 1 hour.

                1. Purchased club passes that they could get for free for $10. This was a Wednesday night folks. NEVER buy passes.

                2. Purchased FAKE passes. Made on a home computer and look legit. The club may even want to hire them for marketing materials. Unfortunately this isn't the Super Bowl so nobody cares about counterfeiting. Bought them for $20 a piece. Worthless. NEVER buy passes.

                3. "Yo me and my brother have a table and just need 4 girls to help walk us in." Yeah happens all the time ladies. If you're attracted to the guys, confirm they're actually on a table list, and all is well - go for it. (That happens like 1% of the time.) My advice - don't do it and go directly to a promoter at the venue or a host.

Hoping to spread some good advice & karma on here - if you know a host or promoter stick with them. This site is a fantastic way to make that very valuable first connection. There are folks that work directly for your favorite spots. Contact them and make that relationship so you or your friends don't waste time and money on silly scams.

LMAO, guess that only works on girls that are Vegas virgins, as if any club cares if you have girls or not when you have a table reserved.

I actually had sucess with a hustler on the street, he gave me a pass to the Bank on a Sunday, tried the ol pay/tip me now... I knew that the chances of the passes working were low so I tipped him like $3 hah. Went to the Bank, line was out of hand handshook the doorman, he took me to a line to pay a cover, showed the pass and up the escalator I went... they're not all bad, but now I'd just go through a JC host.

                    Guest lists

I am so confused about tipping/guest lists. If they just put you on a list, why would you tip an amount close to what the cover charge is? If the cover is $20 for men that they are waiving, is it sufficient to just tip $20 for a group of 6 (with 5 women who were free anyway)? Do you only tip if you skip the line/they walk you to a table? We've used a host at the Venetian for TAO several times and we got to skip the line and get in free, but he was never actually there himself...Leaving tonight and don't want to be a cheapskate, but my friends don't want to pay covers but make me do all the leg work for lists, so I'm sure I'll be paying any tip money myself...

if a host meets you and walks you in/opens rope for you, then tip. If it's just a generic guestlist line then dont

me so sad the only one time i've gone to vegas, I stayed at the mirage. on my room card, it said free entrance blah blah blah. we wait in line, and an hour later we're at the front and the host simply said the cards did not work for weekends. needless to say we had to pony up $50 each for entrance.. and I've seen better clubs in Tijuana.
