Is street team marketing a good option for such events?

I own a small projection mapping company in Toronto. We plan to host an event by the end of next month. I think this event can benefit our business in all means. After researching on marketing strategies, we decided to go with street team marketing. Taking into consideration nowadays, street marketing is dangerous. You know what I mean, so Social Media is a good option.
