        • like anything in life, it takes time to mature, people, relationships, jobs, and your exercise or nutrition lifestyle. Hopefully you'll realize that all of those supps are simply that "supplements" and NOT critical to your success. If you use the shotgun approach of taking so many things, you really won't know what was effective.

I was the same way, taking a lot of the latest advertised "workout in a pill" whatevers before I had success with a managed high protein diet and carb timing along with a once a week clean refeed. It just works.

NOW - I drink black coffee or expresso prior to cardio, I supplement with Whey, and carb replenesh with waxy maize, etc...everything else should be via food that you chew. I get my Flax seed oil via a tablespoon instead of those big ass gel pills! I also take joint juice from many years of heavy squats and simply cause I'm stiff like the Tin Man.

You don't have to take my word for it, you'll figure it out just like I did, through trial and experimentation.

Good luck, and the good thing is we all have Vegas as our "motivator" to a healthy lifestyle....see y'all in July!

So I started looking at other pictures and came across this one

At that point I was 5'11 254lbs. When I saw that picture I was like Holy crap i'm huge and was wondering what had happened to me. So I stuck to a diet that worked for me and started seeing a change, I went from wearing size 40 pants to 38, and 38s to 36 and felt great. When it was all said and done in may 2010 I was 188 and felt great. I wanted to lose more but then I caught a case and started stressing out about potential prison time and my weight started to balloon back up.

So now i'm bouncing back and forth betwixt 215 and 220. Back at last years may invasion, this was me at 208 and also before the world moved on and I woke up in the hospital

I have renewed vigor that I can do this and with the help of the JC crew, a friend of mine that lost 100lbs in 216 days and other local friends, I have a feeling I can really do it this time and get down to my ideal weight. Once that happens, bring on the clean bulk.
Good stuff. I have a similar story although not quite as extreme in terms of weight loss. I was an athlete growing up and played sports year round until I graduated high school. In college, I played basketball for hours several days a week and stayed in great shape. After finishing college and starting work, my time for basketball was reduced, my metabolism slowed down, and I started to change for the worse.

I got married shortly after college and we went on to have three kids. Every time my wife got pregnant, I gained more weight right along with her. By the time each child arrived, I had hit a new "career high" weight wise. My youngest is now five, and shortly after he was born I weighed in at 225 pounds and I'm right at 6-feet tall.

That summer I spent a day playing football, frisbee, etc... on the beach and drank no water whatsoever over the course of the day. All I had was soft drinks. That night I woke up in the middle of the night and seriously thought I was dying. I made it to the bathroom and all my muscles felt like they were seizing up and my body was shutting down. It was a feeling I will never forget. Turns out I was severely dehydrated and on the road to becoming a fat ass because of a terrible diet and not working out.

As soon as I got home I made an appointment with a personal trainer a friend recommended to me. I hired him and went on to go from 225 to 185 in about three months. I completely changed my diet and learned how to eat properly. I gave up soft drinks all together and haven't missed them since.

I've kept the weight off for the most part since then. Every time I get to the 200-pound mark it's a wake up call for me. I'm around 195 right now and plan to get back to the 185-190 range before my next Vegas trip in early June. At that weight, I have some visible definition in my abs and feel pretty comfortable at the pools even though I'm older than most guys there.

Cool story. You like like Diddy in that last shot. I only remember you at LAX...don't remember much from liquid.

After marriage and kids a man's estrogen levels increase while their testosterone levels decrease. (This isn't a diss on marriage. Men in LTR also show weight gain. And it's not just due to 'her good cookin'. You're losing testosterone. Get your ass in the gym lol.) Perhaps our cavemen ansestors realized they'd procreated and let off the pedal I dunno. But I've noticed similar things as Universal in that respect. Just means we have to work hard to keep our levels up.
That being said, if you're asking if it can be done, you're probably not at the level where you could pull it off.

You want to be at the club where girls want to be... not where guys get good bottle deals.

                • Eating wise this weekend was a success. I stayed away from McDonalds on Friday and just had some baked fish with some rice and cucumbers. Saturday I had a Tooter Fish (Tuna Fish) sandwich and a Chicken CheeseSteak Wrap that i made myself using a low carb/fat All Wheat Wrap and some boneless skinless chicken breast with fat free cheese and ketchup. Pretty tasty actually. Sunday we had some crab legs that i refrained from dipping in butter sauce the whole time.

Started the week this week at 215.8 and will weigh myself every other day just so i can continually keep myself motivated. I know you're not suppose to weigh yourself everyday, but last time I lost, it helped me stay on track when I saw the numbers continuously drop.

Today I went to the gym and worked out on the rowing machine for a half hour. First time actually using the machine and my butt is sore and my arms got a good workout. Felt good though, might just continue using this machine.

Just a suggestion to substitute the butter sauce, try a combo of olive oil, lemon juice and minced garlic. Much much healthier for you.

                        Good job.

Since Im new to this thread, I may as well introduce myself...

I'm 29 years old, married office jockey living in Canada. In high school, I was an all star athlete. Tip top physical condition at 5'9'' 195 lbs and 7% body fat. Once I arrived to college, the sports stopped and I didnt gain the Freshman Fifteen, but rather the Freshman Forty. I spent a better part of my college years and the next few years hovering around 240 lbs and maxing out at about 255 at one point. I tried a bunch of crack diets only to yo yo on a number of occasions.

After I got married in the Summer of 2010, I wasn't really pleased with my physical appearance and overall health so I decided to go see my physician to get a health assessment done. Luckily, despite being overweight, sedentary and having a horrible diet, I had a clean bill of health - but that came with a warning "Just because you have good gene, it doesn't mean that you should abuse that". It was then that I decided to get into shape.

I decided to start running and eat natural foods. While it was painful to run at first, I became obsessed with it. So much so that I was able to train and complete a 10K in the fall, under an hour. I felt like a new man...I was weighing in around 205, felt strong, insane cardio level, confident, etc. I decided to continue running and push things to the next level and train for a half marathon.

Everything was going great. My long runs were at 15 kms and I was logging in a good 40 Kms per week. Then suddenly, on a routine 5KM run...*snap*. SprainedACL. Fuck.

That basically put me on the shelf for a good 3-4 months after physio. However, I got lazy again and fell into my bad habits only to see my weight balloon up to 245.

Long story short, Ive been hitting the gym again for the past few weeks and Im heading in the right direction.

Im on a 6 day weight training routine and a 30 min moderate cardio session per day. So far, 12 lbs down and I can see my lean mass developing again.

Basically, my goal is to be physically fit for my boys trip to Vegas in May/June.

                          • I was good this weekend! I actually did not drink this weekend and ate no junk. I worked out both days and kept in check.

Well now that we are posting our weight struggle stories ill share mine. I was always in decent shape through most of high school. Never great but never bad just "normal" I started dating a girl pretty seriously at the end of my junior year. Ring a bell? i got complacent and stopped caring about myself. I dated her through college and a couple years after. I packed on and packed on weight. I hit my all time high at exactly 280 Well we ended up breaking up around Aug 2010.

A couple weeks later I woke up looked at my self in the mirror and was disgusted. I went to the kitchen and threw everything away. I read online all day and researched dieting. I signed up to a gym that day and went shopping for food. I went into beast mode. I used an app MyFitness Pal and logged every single little stat I could. I bought a heart rate monitor and logged every work out. i checked my weight daily morning and night. Im a statistics freak and broke down my weight loss to a science. I could weigh myself at night and almost perfectly predict my morning weight judging on my work out and eating for the day. In 3 months I lost 60lbs. The 4th month I lost another 10lbs. The next 10 took me another 2 months. I had lost a total of 80lbs in 6 months. It took me probably a few months to get down to my low of 193. It took longer because I relaxed a little bit and partied more. Well the partying got harder and the lbs came back. 2 weeks ago I was back up to 218.

I started working out and eating right 2 weeks ago and im back into it. I now sit at 210. My ideal goal weight is 189. At 193 I almost felt too skinny but my goal of 189 is just to say eff you to the BMI scale. Anywho just wanted to share my story and just remind everyone it can be done!
