All caffeine or just soda? I'm trying to decide if switching from diet soda to coffee, green tea, and sugar free red bull would actually boost my results at all.

All caffeine. I'm not a coffee/tea drinker. I've replaced my soda intake with water. And switched from vodka and seven-up to screwdrivers.

Tell me about it...however, I recently broke up with my waitress at Golden Coral. She was devistated!

Yeah, surprised me too! My last run through P90X this was about the time I got injured and had to quit - not this time

My weekend eating is my only weakness, but it's not too bad. Rather than doing full on cheat days, I do a couple of cheater meals - usually dinner on friday and saturday, but I still try to keep it pretty clean. Stick with lean proteins but allow more carbs than usual. Those are also the only times I have any alcohol these days.

I went from at least 1 drink every day (usually more) to nothing except 1-2 drinks on friday and/or saturday. Been a big help. I also cut out all soda of any kind, but kept coffee. I can't function at work without it. I swapped all soda / evening beverage cravings with sparkling water - either plain or with a slight unsweetened flavor. I bought one of those SodaStream thingies and their water essences. Good stuff.

I'm not going to be ripped by mAyOD, but my goal is to be trim and look good for the pool parties and clubs.

                • I use to have my diet down to a science when I was living by myself and I was very successful at losing the weight. Then I got married, and the way I am, I can eat the same thing day in and day out with no problems, I'll maybe jazz it up with something different here and there. But now that i'm married it seems that everytime i get in a groove, the wife wants to do something that breaks that groove.

                    • Luckily for me my wife is also on a fitness kick recently, and has been very supportive with the clean eating. Only wrinkle is that she's a vegetarian, so lean protein to her is tofu and other soy/bean based sources, and I eat a ton of chicken + pork.

Overall I've only dropped ~10lbs, but I've dropped my % body fat by about 6-8%. I'm putting on muscle as fast as I'm losing fat, which means I'm getting skinnier/leaner, just not getting lighter. I need to decided when to switch into pure cardio/fat loss mode. I'm going to finish the last ~40 days of P90X, and then likely focus on cardio and abs to trim down the waistline as much as possible.

                      • Same boat here. I'm flawless during the week it's just Sat nights that kill me. I go to dinner with a group of friends then play a few rounds of beer pong then hit up the bars by 2am the munches kick in and I have even less self control when drunk. What's open at 3am? Nothing healthy! I plan to drop about 15lbs by the end of March. When I'm in beast mode there's no stopping me. A couple years ago I lost 60lbs in 3 months. So I know it can be done.

The next step is to cut out the calories from the OJ and switch to either vodka and water or club soda.

Or vodka with a vodka back.

That being said, if you're asking if it can be done, you're probably not at the level where you could pull it off.

You want to be at the club where girls want to be... not where guys get good bottle deals.

Hmm, what's This "Charles~" method you speak of.

Also, I agree with the swapping out the OJ for a Club Soda. When I need a drink I either drink it straight or with Diet Tonic Water/Club Soda. Gin & Diet Tonics aren't great tasting, but the end results are usually the same.

I think though I found out a good way to stop the weekend binging and that's to just simply allow myself one moderately safe cheat night on Friday night. It just so happens to be one of my lifting days, so i'll usually get a double cheeseburger and a small fries from McDonalds. Saturday's will be baked fish with some brown rice and cucumbers. It's what her mom cooks all the time and figured if we can do that, dropping the weight will be a breeze.
