Venetian is great..plus they have the great noodle spot nearby if youre hungry. Good mix of old/young, celebs. If you wanna ease into something, hit up Wynn after XS/Surrender lets out..youll find a lot of loose cannons

As a beginner I would go to the cheaper hotels. Pro's or good players will most likely go to an expensive casino (Aria etc). Try Excalibur or so.

Ballys is good too. I agree that smaller casinos are best. Stay away from Aria, Wynn, Bellagio, and Venetian because thats where you will find a lot of pros at a majority of tables.

agree with a couple of the previous posters, try to find a middle ground between a room with easier games and somewhere that's actually fun to play, good mix of people, good scenery, etc. Aria, Bellagio, Venetian and Wynn are no's since that's where the local grinders play. MGM would be my #1 suggestion, it's a high traffic room with people coming and going often, is very social compared to some of the smaller rooms and a wide range of players. If you play a tight style, you will lose very little and make a lot of your losses back in free drinks

They were redoing the poker room at MGM on my last trip. So now its temporarily by some random slots. Not a great spot, I am guessing their new poker room will look pretty nice though

I think the new poker room will be essentially the same, they've had to move to the temporary location a number of times because of their renovations, but AFAIK they're not re-doing the poker room. Last I heard should be back in the regular location late Dec/early Jan...

Yeah I've never really seen MGM's prior to the renovations. The picture that was hanging in sportsbook showed a very modern looking poker room
