It always makes me laugh when people say things like you lost all that money and your happy you got a comp room? Hell yeah I am! Well I am going to gamble regardless and I agree with Chuck in that it is entertainment. I am not gambling to chase the free nights, I would do it if I paid full price for the room. It is Vegas, they dont have to give me a free room so I am thankful for it.

We gamble enough to get free room offers from the likes of Monte Carlo, and $79/night offers from Mirage/Aria.
Now I'm going to pile on about $10,000 in rooms and food, and of course gamble as much as usual. Even without
the $10k in rooms/food we receive nice offers going 2-3 times per year with $2K gambling budget between the two of
us. Our play is probably higher than that because we gamble for the big win. We don't win $100 and quit. I'll gamble
it all away chasing that $2000 win. But it's cool, b/c I consider my gambling money to be entertainment money, not an
investment.

Hey Chuck, thanks for that tidbit. My family's been at the Orleans (and the Stardust before that) since I was a toddler. I've just always gambled there because I felt obligated we're always comped (NYE, LDW, CES, etc). I know it's offstrip and prob dont sell out, but they've never turned me down on a room by our host. But i've been looking to move towards the strip - but didn't want to split my gambling there if it wasn't going to equate a room. My budget is usually 5k, and I go 2-3x a year also.

Yeah mLife seems to have brought on the rewards and room discounts faster than some of the others I've been with...mainly Harrah's/Caesars. If you're playing 5K 2-3 times per year you'll have some nice offers in no time from mLife.
