Host routine/Tipping Host?

If you have a table set up by a host but you get walked in by another would you tip the guy who walked you in or wait for the host who set you up initially to come over to your table? I was under the impression hosts split tips but don't wanna feel like the guy who set me up isn't getting his cut.

I don't think it matters. I believe from the hosts that I've talked to, it seems like they split all the tips at the end of the night. If the person walking me to my table isn't the host I set things up with, I usually send that host a text saying a lift $XXXX with whoever walked me in.

Bump. Good thread. I've always tipped the host that made the reso, but he doesn't always walk you to the table and wasn't sure what to do. Good to know they split so that if you drop a big tip on the first guy, it trickles to others.
