Good catch, I was running it through the calculator yesterday and the total didnt make sense. I wonder if more places are going to start charging LETOriginally posted by ricky_clemons View PostTo answer the other part of his question, tax should only be 10%. That number being charged for Sales Tax is definitely a hell of a lot more than 10%, almost 20%. So looks like they put the LET fee in there and just didn't designate it as so. Otherwise, the sales tax should only be roughly 320 bucks. Looks like it got almost doubled to get to 595 in sales tax on a 32-3300 dollar charge. Good catch by Omar looking at that bill.Originally posted by daisy24 View PostNo, you don't pay tax on a "mandatory" tip. Sometimes it shows the tax line after the tip line... but if you do the math, it never counts tax on tip. AND your tip is never calculated on subtotal + tip, just subtotal.Originally posted by OmarLittle View Postwell that certainly isn't 10% sales tax so perhaps they remixed it into that number. do you guys charge tax ontop of total+tip in the US or is this just a sneaky way of earning extra $$ for the club?

And they'd be wayyyyyyy to hammered to realize it was mixed in lolOriginally posted by Drew View PostI bet Marquee got a lot of people asking an complaining about the LET..so they probably just put it into one tax line assuming (correctly I'm sure) most people won't notice.I Survived Vegas

Easy way to figure out your bill. At Marquee, with Live Entertainment Tax (LET), your total bill will be equal to the subtotal (the total value of all bottles/mixers/etc. you purchased) times 1.381. In gubuju's case, $3287 x 1.381 = $4539.35.Originally posted by frankym View PostI was quoted a minimum for a table this coming saturday. The host didn't mention if this includes tip, tax and host tip. Can anyone tell me?
Thanks
If there is no LET, which rarely if ever happens at Marquee but may happen at other clubs, then your total bill will be equal to the subtotal times 1.281.
The breakdown is:
- 8.1% for sales tax
- 10% for LET
- 20% auto gratuity (does not include sales tax and LET)Last edited by RKLV; 06-02-2011, 10:55 PM.
