Wearing a suit to a club with a perfectly done tie looks like you are trying to hard (or work there) imo. If you are determined to wear a suit I suggest finding a way to dress it down by skipping the tie or undoing your tie/ first button. Also, make sure the suit is fitted. This way it seems more relaxed and not as stiff. There are many alternatives to a suit that can help you stand out while still being nicely dressed.
Definitely rock the suit bro. You can loosen the tie for a more relaxed look or loose the jacket and just wear the suit vest with the dress shirt sleeves rolled up since it will be hot. All of those options are better than looking like the 99% of guys that will be wearing A. black dress shoes, dark jeans, and a button up collared shirt with top button undone or B. same exact thing with a blazer over it.
From your second post...Check out spyonvegas.com / Napkinnights.com.....you'll see a lot of people dressed that way.
I notice most of the guys found in these photos are dressed rather "typical," of the night life scene. It's almost like guys aren't required to be a little extra creative or fashionable. Jeans, and a stylish top, boom thats it. Most of them wear very dark colors too. I suppose it was another night out for them. For me its a special occasion. So I'll have to bite the bullet and go for a bold look and hope it doesn't outdress (or embarrass) my comrades lmao
I think it's better to be different in Las Vegas than wear just the standard untucked collared shirt, dark jeans and dress shoes. I think most guys wear this because they know it's safe and won't be forced to change it when they get to the bar/club.
A little bit of confidence and some unique touches like Gary (Royale) said: pocket squares, bad ass watch, etc. can definitely help set you apart from the rest.
Unless you try to dress like one of the NYC Club Kids (google or think Lady Gaga), I don't think you'll have any issues.

You want to be at the club where girls want to be... not where guys get good bottle deals.
I say suit if that's what you and do it well. Some people look stiff and overdressed in a suit while others don't. Obviously you may get hot but that's when the jacket comes off. The same jacket that some nice young lady may need as you escort her the "afterparty" wherever that may be. I wear suits or pants (jeans or chinos) with a dress shirt, tie, and funky sportcoat making sure to incorporate colors in the mix. In the end you gotta be you. The girls will notice if you're "trying too hard" aka not being you.

Thanks for the responses so far
Olskoolblue, you're right. The style I had in mind would be within my comfort level and something that wouldn't require me trying "too hard." I'm leaving now to go pick a suit or two up, then my first Vegas trip in 10 days! woohoo
Consensus say that the ladies approve the suit. Go for it! And yes get on SpyonVegas that night and give us the link with a couple ladies in your arms!
Even if you did look like an employee or you were trying too hard, wouldn't change the fact that you looked damn good. It definitely wouldn't be a deal breaker. I say go for it~
Now I don't go clubbing often but when I do it's typically nice dress shoes, dark jeans, and a clean dress shirt (or may be stylish t-shirt). Pretty simple, may toss on a jacket depending on the climate, etc.
However, with my first trip to Vegas as well as celebrating a few Birthdays in the city, I thought I'd dress a little nicer for the occasion.
So suits came to mind. Now I'm not referring to the "I look like I got out of my stock firm meeting" type of suit. I'm talking about more casual suits, with a range of colors from navy all the way to beige/white. Granted, it will still be a suit at the end of the day.
For Vegas club veterans, what do you recommend in this regard? Is it "over-dressed?" Do the ladies find it anymore appealing (lol) ?
I guess what I"m trying to do is to stick out but not "stick out like a sore thumb." I'm the shortest guy in a large group of handsome guys, and its a dog-eat-dog world out there haha. Your "fashion advice" is appreciated.
p.s. in all likelihood we'll be at Tao for the occasion.
Dress up nice. I always wear black slacks/ashley talors and a fancy shirt/tie. Example, baby blue shirt with a pink tie, ruby red shirt with a blank tie. Got to have some nice earrings too if thats your thing.
If you want to wear a suit, pimp it. dont worry about it and just have fun. You must visit XS, thats more of an upscale club and I felt under dressed when I was there.

I get that alot from girls..........I take it as an opener for them, "oh so what is your job"? etc etc. But just as much I get "wow your handsome" or an evil little smile with her eyes going from head to toes.
I did the suit before for a dinner at mixx a few years ago. We went to the mixx lounge after and it totally worked out. A group of three girls just came up to me right by the bathroom and started dancing all up on me! And, they were hot. Like 5'2, blonde brunettes good bods from Montana. I was shocked at first.. Its not usually that easy. They thought I worked there at first but I told them I didn't. It still broke the ice and we partied all night with them.
Just do like my buddy. Go to Dillards 20 min before the club, buy a velvet jacket for $50, pop the collar when you walk up the bouncer as if you own the place, and get free admission without even knowing anybody there.
On second thought. Ever heard of a fluke? I definitely would not recommend trying this..
Suits work anywhere there are women if you are comforatable wearing them and it is night, I guess it would take someone quite special to pull off a suit at a day club, but still possible with a linen suit, sandals and a shed load of confidence.
I look like U.K. door staff if I wear a suit so will probably leave mine at home but go with jeans, shoes, shirt and jacket most nights.
The main thing is to go what you are comfortable with, if you are comfortable wearing a suit you will pull it off, if not you will look like you've just come from court. ;o)
If you feel comfortable with what you are wearing you will look relaxed and more approachable.
I'm quite lucky as I'm leaving my lovely young lady at home so the only attention I will be wanting is that of the bar staff each time I want a drink.
