You got to be kidding me - $100 per bottle to the host? If you have an agreement ahead of time for a special location OR just a simple handshake agreement set before the walk-up I can understand but for a regular weekend there is no reason in hell anybody should tip an additional $100 per bottle for somebody to walk me 30 feet, especially not at the table locations in the venues you mentioned.

Note: I've done bottle service 8+ times so I'm not somebody blowing smoke up your ass.
What were your bottle minimums and what was your table locations during those 8+ times?
I also want to know. I try to do bottle service at least once a trip (I've slowed down compared to before), but I call up hosts I trust. They know I'm not a "baller", so they put me in so-so locations. If I wanted more prominent locations, they tell me what I need to do to make it happen. Sometimes we switch, sometimes we don't.

I look at it this way: I want to have fun with my friends first. If there are girls that are concerned with my table location, I'll just tell them to leave and then just invite other girls. There's too many girls in Las Vegas out to have fun to be concerned with petty things (in my opinion) like table location).

However, if you rarely go (like once a year or less), I could see table service location being something to consider.

I would always pay before hand, just on the basis if some of your party are ill/fall asleep etc and get thrown out and you have not got their money it makes your bill more, settling at the beginning eliminates all the potential problems.

we've paid up front in the past for everything-and had no problems at clubs
the only time I had an issue was Aug. 2010 HRH Beach Club had bev min for cabana and at the end slammed us for a sperate Cabana charge which doubled our bill-been going there for years and NEVER had a seperate Cabana charge-that's when Morgans was still managing the hotel hopefully new management will be like Mortons management!!!

+1 Its a good idea to charge your bar tabs/ vegas expenses to Amex. They are top notch in correcting those shady tenders that write in extra tips.

I am pretty sure I settled the bill before we even got our bottles. Then if you get extra stuff you pay as it comes.

Im not worried about the host. Both guys at tao and pure have been real cool with my requests and I'm gonna take of them for that. I'm gonna be paying in cash and I'm worried that by the end of the night I'm gonna get a bill for alot more than I was quoted. Has that ever happened to anybody?? Are clubs good with charging you what they quoted?? Or do they try to sneak in extra fees and take advantage of you when your hammered??

Think of it in the way some restaurants can get away with charging a large party a set gratuity no matter the service. Doesn't make much sense because "legally" speaking it's not legal to have a disparity between patrons.

There's court rulings that sway each way so the moral of the story?

Use a credit card. I've only had to do it once but you can dispute a tip. I knew what I was paying for, I knew the final bill and was fine signing the receipt. But I didn't remember ordering cuntish snail paced service with a side of "your welcome, I'm doing you a favor for bring out your 1.5L bottles you paid for" attitude.

So, I had American Express take care of it.
That's awesome! If I'd known that from that b*tch waitress Nicole who had the WORST service ever, I would've done the same thing too!

I understand that clubs do this in Las Vegas for various reasons, but I wonder how it all got started. How did the 20% auto-gratuity become the standard? Does the customer (us!) have any recourse if the service was as bad as horse shit?

Yeah, just disputed a portion of the tip and that was it.

is it really legal to include a mandatory 22% tip? what happens if you have terrible service and dont want to pay it?

At dayclubs usually the tax/grat is already included and calculated for you. Any other tipping you will do toward your host that sets you up. You can probably consider 1 bottle is the equivalent of $500 of FB.
