there's so many tickets available for diff clubs and pool parties this weekend, but do they actually get you in, providing you turn up at a sensible time?? ive bought $100 tickets for Tiesto @ Wet Rep. but it says nothing about what time to get there for or anything. would b seriously f*cked off if i got there and they didnt let me in after dropping $100!

Same goes for tickets for XS on the Friday (DJ Atrak), marquee saturday etc etc

I have some questions about how you get your location slotted based upon number of bottles vs. number in group...

I'm pretty sure that there is a general rule for each location...

2 bottle locations
3 bottle locations
4 bottle locations
5 bottle locations
10 bottle prime location

Then comes the number of people in the wolfpack

6 people 2 bottles vs 9 people 3 bottles vs 12 people 4 bottles... In the end it's still 1 bottle per 3 people...

Is the 12 person wolfpack slotted above the 4 person wolfpack

I believe that this is where tipping comes into play... The way I have come to understand it is that you are first slotted into different sections based upon how much you sepnd (total bottles)... from there you can tip up to a more desired location... Or tip down by not giving one... and end up with the table that is less desirable... If your the 12 person group buying 4 bottles and you don't tip... Your gonna get the lowest 4 bottle table... Which isn't gonna be that bad... If you have three guys 2 bottles with no tip, your gonna end up at the worst table in the club...

The worst situation is 3 people with a 2 bottle minimum... First off, 3 people don't need 2 bottles... Then your $200 tip at best gets you into the 3 bottle locations... The math never works out well...

On my previous trip to Vegas I had gotten a table at XS with 2 btl min. Without taking care of my host I would have gotten a table outside in a shitty location, BUT since I did, I got a table in a prime location where it is usually 3-4 btl min. Also, the host would always txt me checking up on us, always came by to check on us, took care of us when we wanted to check out Tryst, and hooked us up with a contact for Drais, where we got in with no wait and no cover. So remember that $75-100 per bottle you tip a host, goes a long way.

The post above highlights the point I made in my first, if you have prearrangements or some kind of agreement (or I suppose are just lucky) then the extra tip can be worth it. I didn't mean to blanket all scenarios, only that the 'rule' of tipping so much per bottle for what I and most consider a crap location is stupid.

Can you tell us who you used for XS on that night? I've had luck previously getting into Tryst no problem after our table at XS but the Drais part is interesting.

I've had the huge bachelor party group down to a trip with a girlfriend at LAVO. The thing is, I don't expect to be sat middle of dance floor on a Saturday night when it is me and one girl with a 1 bottle minimum (arranged beforehand). Was our table absolute garbage? Not at all, sat just off main floor in pretty busy part of the room. Part of the issue is managing expectations. Do I think my group of 7 guys with 3 bottles are sitting main floor at XS? No chance in hell. Do I think dropping a stupid extra $300 (according to the $100 per bottle rule) to my host is going to help at all? No way.

Do you have any tips on how to handle things when it is just two people? My wife and I will be spending MDW in Vegas and its the first time we've had the change to get there on a weekend. There are a lot of people we are interested in seeing at the various clubs (it seems as though every big name is in town), but we are unsure about how to make sure we do things right. Much of the advice around here seems to be geared towards larger groups or groups of guys. Does anyone have info or know where I can find info on how a couple should handle things? Thanks!

In my opinion, I think the $100-$150 he suggested is plenty fine. His table locations are less than desirable to most so give the guy a little bit for helping you with the bottle ratio thing.

If you have an agreement ahead of time for a special location OR just a simple handshake agreement set before the walk-up I can understand but for a regular weekend there is no reason in hell anybody should tip an additional $100 per bottle for somebody to walk me 30 feet, especially not at the table locations in the venues you mentioned.

Note: I've done bottle service 8+ times so I'm not somebody blowing smoke up your ass.

What were your bottle minimums and what was your table locations during those 8+ times?

My group size has gone up and down for varying trips. To be truthfully honest, I've had every scenario come up and not once has somebody acted like they were waiting for a tip, did /did not get one and make any decision different than they would have otherwise (at least in body language or where I was actually placed).

I am by no means a wealthy guy but I like to enjoy the trips I go on. Most bottles I have ever done in a single sitting is 4 (with a few rounds of shots in between), average is 3 (the girlfriend trip was one time thing). I've never been told I had to break the 3 persons / 1 bottle ratio if that helps.

Just to remind, I believe there might be some extended circumstances but the original thread mentioned 12 guys May 12-15 (a Memorial prep weekend) getting 3 bottles on the Tao beach level and Terrace at Pure. 4/1 ratio is very solid with that big of a group of guys but those locations are 2nd or 3rd rate. I always prefer dance floor but at least the terrace at Pure has a view a Vegas rookie would enjoy. I absolutely hate the beach level at Tao. Hey guy, here's $300 for putting me in a garbage location? No thanks...

+100! I've always said the tip is at YOUR own discretion and no one else's, you tip based on service and what you think the service you've received deserves.
