Best Options?

I've typically have gone with groups of guys in smaller numbers (3-4 people). I've never had any difficulty getting in anywhere without using a host or getting bottle service. As others have mentioned as long as you get there about an 30-60 minutes before the place opens you should have no problem getting in. Get stamped and come back later when the place is hopping. I'll also state that the only place this doesn't seem to work right now is at Marquee. Was there this past weekend for Kaskade and it was a madhouse. When I left at 3:30 there was a ridiculous line to get in still. I asked a couple different doorman early on (got there at 9:30) if we (my girlfriend and I) could come back in after we left and he said it was subject to capacity. However, you can buy GA tickets in advance on there website and will have no problem getting in as long as you walk in along side a girl (1:1 ratio is true).

Going early even works for Marquee? Going in June and really want to check it out. How early should I be there, and if i get stamped can I walk right back in there?

I'd say no. Also depends on what kind of talent they have there on that day. When they have big name people they open early too, like 8:30pm. If you were to do the early thing you'd need to be there at 7:30pm. That's crazy early. You also need ratio if you're doing the list or general admission.

coming from a doorman.. dont waste ur time with girls.. just take care of the guy at the rope.. pay cover.. 1 hour turned into 10 seconds....

Hey LSU, i'm in the same situation. my friend and I are going in june .. just 2 guys.. and were wondering whats the best way to get into the clubs without having to wait hours in line.. from reading this thread, seems like marquee is definitely out of the question (without girls)

For the most part, I don't waste my time anymore trying to rope chicks at a club. Women are a hot commodity at a club and most women know it (even the DPs). I'd say, go 1/2 cut before you get to the club, snag a doorman or host (politely) and do the handshake.

I can count on one hand the number of women I've met that don't know that guys will chat them up just so they can walk into a club with them (I learned this a long time ago going to Tao). It seems a place like Marquee is even more strict about this now.

and how exactly do i approach the doorman? do i just go straight to the front of the line and say "hey how can we work out a deal?" and handshake him some cash? or what? i dont want to look stupid walking straight up to someone offering money and then be turned down because i did it totally wrong

When I mean 1/2 cut, I'd already drank about a 1/4 to 1/2 of a 26'er (I think it's called a fifth in the US).

Personally, I don't go in cold. I look around and see the guy with the clipboard. That's who I ask first. Many times that's the person with the guest list and/or table reservations list.

If you want to go in cold and just walk up to a staff member, you could start off with something like "Hi. My friends and I are looking to get in tonight. Whom should we talk to about getting taken care of?" or something like that. But, seriously, I don't know what to say. Like I said, I don't go in cold. Maybe someone else can suggest something better.
