I should adopt a few of these rules. I'm still feeling it from St. Patty's weekend in Chicago. Well... really it's the concussion.

      Diarrhea relief.

      (stay with me here)

You get a pack of those powders that are designed to be mixed with water (they are called dioralyte in the UK). They are designed to rehydrate the body and replace all the minerals that are lost through dehydration...which coincidentally is exactly what the body is feeling during a hangover.

Bosh one of those before bedtime and in the morning, and you're back in the game.

Just remember to keep it in the glass...probably not the best idea to have loads of powder spinkled around your hotel room!

I tend to just go with a couple of ibuprofen, but I quite like the sound of this idea in combination with a painkiller. Are they fast acting?

agree 100%. Pedialyte is what its known as over here, and the little packets they have now are awesome. That, some ibuprofen and a B12 strip is where its at.

Here are my personal 10 Crack Commandments.

                10. Hydration - In one of my checked luggage bags will be a case of Water
                9. Extra Strength Excedrin - To make sure I don't have a pulsing headache when I start drinking again.
                8. Rest - Make sure that the week leading up to the trip I clear my mind and get plenty of rest.
                7. 5 Hour Energy Drinks - The extra caffeine helps keep me from passing out once I sit down
                6. Pre-game - I lightly pre-game so that by the time I get to the bar i'm buzzed but at the point where a couple shots will have me right in my sweet spot.
                5. Showers - I don't know what it is, but showers seem to always make me feel good before and after a night of drinking.
                4. Avoid Mix Drinks - Tokyo Teas, Blue Hawaiian's just say no. Sugar is no good
                3. Keep Active - I know if i'm drinking and sitting down, I tend to get hammered faster and pass my sweet spot.
                2. Food - I carb load early in the morning specifically on breads. Especially if I know it's going to be a long day of drinking
                1. My number one rule for the sweet spot.....NO CHEAP SHIT!! Whenever I drink cheap shit i get fucked up waaaaaaay too fast.

It seems there are some rookie elements to this contingent of the AOD. I agree with the vets: water, no sugar, moderate caffeine, water, one type of alcohol no switching (which seems to be hard with the AOD), and water. And to the rookies, avoid AODHQ. Once there you will be given an intrevenous patron drip and Gen Chappy will consider your sobriety an enemy of the AOD state and will seek to eliminate it.

My motto is "wheels up to wheels up". Once the wheels on the outbound plane go up so does my drink. Until the wheels go back up on the inbound.

That being said, if you're asking if it can be done, you're probably not at the level where you could pull it off.

You want to be at the club where girls want to be... not where guys get good bottle deals.

These tips are awesome, but doesn't caffeine dehydrate further?

To get the best of both worlds I'll be drinking vodka Gatorades in Vegas next month. Or if that fails I'll give vodka waters a try.

Vodka + rehydration...what could possibly go wrong?!

My biology professor in college told us that Gatorade + alcohol gets you drunk so much faster. Something about Gatorade being specifically designed to be absorbed through the stomach lining instead of have to wait until reaching the small intestine to be absorbed and thus shortening the time it takes the alcohol to get into the bloodstream.

                            So, I support this 100%.

Pedialyte for sure. Back in college this was all that was available at practice and during matches. Also, if you can keep track of it, one drink for every 4 songs or so with a 8 oz water in between will keep you light on your toes and with a good buzz. Figure 4 songs times 3:30 per song is about a drink every 15 minutes. After a 4 hour rager, you're 16 drinks deep, you can have more than enough fun with that.
