      Hi

I would say that my experiences with direct hosts vs independent hosts has actually been negative, rather than positive.

I have previously used a couple of guys from a company called Sienna Entertainment last year (Sean Patrick and Kam Foo) and they were able to get me bottle deals at Tao that the direct hosts weren't prepared to offer. They met us on the door, walked us in and ensured we had the table as agreed. I paid $250 for the set up and they took care of their host contacts. I would have expected to have paid $250 to the direct host myself anyway, so it wasn't anything additional.

I used Patrick Frank at Tryst before, we agreed everything over email, yet he wasn't there on the night we had the bottle service. As a result, despite a lot of discussion, we were allocated a table (2 bottles for 4 guys btw) that was stuck out by the fountain and no way near any action. They weren't willing to flex at all, despite Patrick's original assurances that we would be getting a good table.

I have no doubt some of the direct hosts are ideal and very responsive. I will say though that common sense suggests that if you compare my requirements to that of a busy independent hosting company, he's likely to be putting a lot of business the way of the club (and his contacts), so understandably will have access to preferred tables or deals that myself (and my 2 bottle requirements every 6 months) is likely to get from the direct hosts. I would have thought it would make sense for the direct hosts to keep the independent hosts happy and on-side, rather than worry too much about someone like myself who visits rarely.

Anyone else had any positive experiences with independent hosts to share ?

Certainly what you say makes sense, but I think that is why it is suggested that you use the hosts recommended on here and say you are from JC. It is then also worth coming back on here and giving your feedback.

This place works like an independent host but with no extra money being paid.
        Posting on a different timezone.

          Thanks NTG

I think JC is an invaluable tool and one I use a lot. In the same way some of us have had good experiences with direct hosts, it's also true to say that many of us have had good experiences with independent hosts. I just didn't want to paint the picture that independent hosts are always the wrong way to turn, I've no doubt there are plenty of 'sharks' out there, but I've been fortunate to use some that have provided reliable service at a cost that is comparable to what I'd pay a direct host. I've also suffered with some unreliable direct hosts, certainly it's frustrating to negotiate a deal only to find the host is absent on the night and no one else seems to know anything about what was agreed.

That sounds like a good deal. Give it a shot. I suggest you spread the drinking throughout the night though. The last time a member reported using an outside host for the bank, they got booted from their table as soon as they finished their bottles, which is not good. You should have the table the whole night.
