How was your first time?

Went with the family often before hitting 21...staying at places like MGM and Luxor in the early-mid 90s back when they were still cool and Vegas was "family-friendly". Went with some college friends for his 22nd bday for my first 21+ trip, and stayed in Circus Circus (NEVER EVER AGAIN). Promptly lost close to $1000 at blackjack and roulette and resolved to never play while drunk. Would like to think I've learned alot more about Vegas in the past 3 years since...

I had been to Vegas when i was about 14 or 15 but im going to post the first REAL Vegas trip since the ones before 21 dont really count.

In August 2002 i went out to Vegas right after my 21st B-day. We had 6 guys with us (2 who werent 21 but had fakes) and we all packed into a regular room at the Luxor. After being in the room for 3 hours the A/C broke so i went downstairs and complained and they upgraded us to a Jr Suite with a Jacuzzi right next to the bed. This had a little living room also so it helped with the space situation. The first night we didnt know much about the nightlife but i tried to figure things out before hand. I got us all on the list for Ra, but my buddies fakes didnt work so they got kicked out. The rest of us went in for a little bit but there really wasnt much going on. The next few nights we all went out and drank a bunch at different easy bars to get into (like Coyote Ugly in the NYNY and other BS like that) and saw Blue Man Group. One of the my buddies ended up getting food poisoning from the Boardwalk buffet so he was shitting and throwing up the entire trip and didnt make it out of the room after the first night.

Well ill fast forward to the last night. We went out to dinner and then went back to the room to get ready. Everyone was like "maybe we should just take it easy tonight". I was like Screw that, im in Vegas and im going out, im not wasting a night. I had always seen Ghost Bar on TV and it was really one of the things i wanted to check out the most. So i got ready by myself and just as i was about to walk out the door one of my friends said, ok ill go with you, i wont let you go out alone. After he gets ready we hop in a cab to the Palms. We sit down at the tables and play a little bit. He knew i really just wanted to check out Ghost Bar so i told him "listen, im going to go up there for like 20 mins. Just want to check the place out, get a drink and ill be right back down." He was cool with that cause he just wanted to chill more and play at the tables. So i went up to Ghost Bar alone at about 11 PM and checked it out. I got a drink, walked around, went out to the balcony and just took it all in. I thought it was the coolest place in the world. I said to myself, alright ill get one more drink, finish it and go back downstairs. I saw what i wanted to see. So i go to the bar and get another Goose and Soda and i go out to the balcony just to check out the strip view. As i am almost done with my drink some guy comes up to me and starts talking about who i am, where im from, blah blah. I told him that i am out in Vegas for my 21st b-day and its the last night and all my friends wanted to stay in the room because we have early flights, so i came out of my own. Hes like man that sucks, well your gonna hang out with us tonight. I was like OK! He was there with a bachelor party and it turns out all the guys worked for New Line Cinema and had endless expense accounts. These guys start buying my drinks all night and we proceed to just get hammered. At about 2 AM their like lets go back to our room. So we take a whole bunch of guys and girls and go back to their room in the Palms. They were staying in the Playpen Suite with hard wood floors, floor to ceiling windows, and a stripper pole right in the middle. The girls proceed to get crazy and use the pole. After an hour there we go and get into VIP at Rain and get one of those balcony cabanas up on top and again free drinks all night. At about 5 AM their like lets go to the Crazy Horse! I said sure no problem, lets go. So at 5 AM we roll about 15 deep out of Rain into the Palms lobby. My buddy is sitting at a slot machine completely broke. He sees me and says "You asshole! I have been sitting in this lobby for 6 hours! I lost all my money and I didnt even have money for a cab ride home!" I was so drunk i was laughing my ass off so i said "Man im sorry, well were going to the strip club, their treat, wanna go?" In complete guy fashion he forgets everything that happened and with a smile on his face goes "sure!" We go to the Crazy Horse and after a couple hours there we realize we have to get back to the hotel cause our plane leaves in a few hours. So at 7 AM we leave the crazy Horse and say by to all my new friends and catch a cab back to the Luxor. By the time we get there i cant stand up. I roll out of the cab and threw up all over the Front entrance of the Luxor. My friend immediately picks me up and carries me over his shoulder through the casino as i am spitting on the floor (I have no idea why but this is what hes telling me). We get to the room and pack our stuff while the other 4 guys who stayed back are like WTF happened to you guys??

Anyway, we get to the airport and im so belligerent that im yelling at the TSA guys and as soon as we board the plane im out like a light. Apparently when the stewardess came around for drinks i asked her what she had on tap (says my friend, but i dont remember).

I can honestly say one of the best nights i had in Vegas is when i left all my friends behind
