BTW, for 1/11 rates. Check out the Monte Carlo and their Vegas PartyScape package. I got 3 nights for $186. And that's for Thursday ckin Sunday ckout. Someone told me not to stay there, but the location and price too good to pass out.
With tax and the ResFee, ttl is $253. Did a check and same WE, at NyNy, PH, MGM or even the Trop all were $100 + more, that'll get me a night start on the party, or a little gambling money.

That's a pretty good deal for 3nights. Regarding the sandwich trick, I think they got a little greedy. Try $40 instead, and see if that works. I usually do $50, on my recent trip I booked HRH twitter special for $50 for basic room. Came to check-in, did $60 sandwich, got upgraded to HRH Suite 1floor below penthouse, with awesome view of the strip and this was during the time the whole hotel was completely sold out. So $$$ talks, and do your research on what rooms they have. Don't be scared to mention what room you want, and also add that you want this to be your best experience ever. Little things like that will make them give you the room.

What's the deal with the party scape package? Is that the price for the room with those amenities added on at both NYNY and the monte? And is it only for rooms at the Monte or can you choose b/t there and NYNY.

I think the problem with the $20 trick is that people started putting up more than that, so of course the desk clerks that saw that people are willing to give more for a "complimentary" upgrade and don't care about $20 any more. Of course it will also depend on the person you get as well as what kind of mood they're in (if the person they talked to before you was rude to them, they might've ruined it for you) and how you treat them yourself.

The partyscape package is the room + those extras. The price I mentioned is for Monte. NY NY has the same package freebies but costs $365 + tax n RF.
I've stayed at NYNY b4, nice place, but for $200 + less, I'm staying at "The Monte"
